Has he actually been diagnosed? Is he receiving any kind of treatment? If so, it is important to discuss this with his health care provider. Ask about support groups in your area and network with other people with similar situations. The support and information will be invaluable.

If he is not receiving treatment or has no health care provider, contact your local mental health clinic for information on support groups.

I wish you the best and hope you find the support and assistance you need.

Not a lot of information seems available for help on the subject. I did find one interesting case study saying:

"Her husband reported that she bought unnecessary articles and sometimes coerced him to shoplift. Her son complained that she repeatedly called him and tried to persuade him to marry. In addition, she sometimes made sexual jokes to him and complained about her sexless life. Because she refused medicine, we offered a supportive psychotherapy to her husband to relieve his burden. As he became adept at dealing with her accusations, the frequency and severity of her accusations gradually decreased."

Wish you the best in finding out the best way to deal with the situation.

Delusional Disorder is pretty serious. Since it is on the Schizophrenia spectrum, it might be treatable with meds.

How do you deal with a spouse with this disorder? Get them help. Get yourself some support.

This is serious stuff.

Is this really also known as Othello syndrome? Never heard of it but you could imagine I'd be curious....

Oh... They've come up with some GREAT names. Seems like there was an article written on the "Othello" syndrome. There MUST be a syndrome about name syndromes. I went to a 12-step meeting for people who talk too much. It was called "On and on Anon".
