Since you asked this question in the Dash Store category, I assume that this question was intended for the Kardashian sisters. Sorry to say they're not here to answer your question, I will try to answer on their behalf. I read Kim's blog and she recommends makeup on occasion. She is a big fan of MAC products, especially their eye makeup.

I noticed in high school and college that the people that used makeup daily seemed to have really bad skin when they took it off. I don't know if that was cause or effect, but I was always short on time anyhow, and sometimes cash, so I started wearing it only for really special occasions, like weddings, funerals etc. For a very long time I've had good skin: no blemishes (maybe that monthly one, but that's been it), good skin tone and color. When I was wearing foundation, all different brands, I had constant problems. So I don't think it was simply genetics.
I know I'm flying in the face of the advice of cosmetic companies, but that's been my experience.

The Studio Fix is a powder/foundation combo and gives great coverage without looking caked on.
Their Eye Shadows come in great colors, and doesn't crease.
The LipGlass, moisturizes and gives just a nice hint of color.

Aqua Elements is only mineral makeup cosmetics line on the market that is water based. The unique water infusion formula is designed to moisturize the skin, giving you a natural, beautiful, hydrated glow. Instead of a chalky white finish, Aqua Elements will give your complexion a hydrated natural glow.

I use Mary Kay for foundation and then for anything else with competitive pricing (via ebay). Good, smooth foundation is important, but Mary Kay is too expensive at list price for me. I'm a fan of their lipstick as well. Otherwise, I tend toward Covergirl, Maybeline, and anything else in my shade on sale.

I don't normally wear makeup at all, but when I have a reason to do it, I usually use Bare Minerals. I used to use Mary Kay for cleansing, but now I oil cleanse and my skin is better. Howdy, I use Physician Formula make up. It is a Talc-Free Mineral Makeup that is gentle and specially formulated for sensitive or breakout-prone skin. I like it just as well as the more costly mineral make up.
