What is the best way to clear an infrared burner on outdoor Viking grill?

The burner appears partially clogged and the heat is not as hot as when I first purchased it.

Depending on your exact BBQ, there are a couple of different ways to do this.

1)
My old BBQ was a cheaper model but didn't do a bad job. To do the yearly deep clean, I would spray on a good amount of oven cleaner and let it sit overnight. Then, I'd powerwash the bujesus out of it. Things always came up looking like new including the infrared rear burner.

2)
My new BBQ is a bit different. I'm still babby'ing it and don't want to risk damaging the finish with my old oven cleaner / power wash method.

Now, I line a bread tin with foil, fill it with vinegar and wrap the tinfoil over to form a solid pouch. I poke a few holes in the top of the pouch.

Once in a while, after I cook a solid meal, I'll toss this vinegar pouch in the bbq and let it boil and steam away on high heat. Everything loosens up and is easy to wipe off with a cloth.

For the infra red back burner, I use an old large bath brush. I just dip it in the hot vinegar and give it a little scrub to get the last of the stuff in and on the burner.

This vinegar method steams up and gets into all of the nooks and crannies. It works very well.

Hope this helps!
