Mahaloian of the Week?!? - @lvincentpoupard
Here at Mahalo Answers we like to make sure the most interesting of the most helpful get to be highlighted and when a user goes above and beyond in Mahalo Answers by being thoughtful, professional, friendly, and intelligent we should take notice and point out their awesomeness by honoring them as Mahaloian of the Week. :)
This week Mahalo awards ~~ @lvincentpoupard ~~ with the MotW decoration :)
Over the weekend we sat down with @lvincentpoupard and asked a few tough questions. We got down to the business of why and how he has been such an asset to Mahalo and Mahalo Answers. Read on fellow Mahaloians and hopefully make a new friend in the process :)
=====================================================
Let me start out by thanking you for this honor. I would much rather be remembered as a Mahaloian of the Week than a weak Mahaloian.
*1. How did you first hear of Mahalo and what made you decide to join?
I am a member of a few writing communities online. In the middle of last year, I found that I was searching those communities for sites that I could do light writing for to warm myself up, or cool myself off, for a day of writing.
When I read about Mahalo, I liked the idea that I could answer (or ask) questions. A lot of by writing is based off of answering questions that people might have, so I thought that it would be a good fit for me. When I added on the fact that I could earn gift cards for Amazon, I was hooked.
*2. Favorite book? Band? Interstate highway?
My favorite book of all time is Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World.” I have read it once a year since I was 12. I guess some might like to know that my other favorite books are “The Canterbury Tales,” “Wuthering Heights,” “Mother Night,” and “The Year of the Zink Penny.”
My favorite band is Pearl Jam.
My favorite highway would be I-696 north of Detroit. - http://bit.ly/gY0Ekt
*3. Glengarry Glen Ross; Great film? Or the greatest film?
“Glengarry Glen Ross,” is a great film. It would be on my top 100 list, but near the bottom. In my opinion, the best films ever would be “Citizen Kane” and “The Wizard of Oz.” My favorites would be “The Conversation” and “Night of the Living Dead.”
*4. What feature would you personally add to Mahalo?
Others have mentioned that they would like progress bars to show how close someone was to a particular Mahalo badge. That makes sense to me. On top of that, I would love to see some higher level Mahalo Badges as I have maxed out a few ranks, and am close to maxing out a few more.
*5. What is your best advice for the new Mahalo Answers user?
My tip to new users would be the same as it would be to everyone - Mahalo Answers is a community, and it should be held with the same regard as if it was your neighborhood. Mahalo is filled with people that you are going to agree with, and people that you disagree with. If you disagree with someone, it is better to explain your different point of view than to argue. No one wants to see neighbors argue.
That is all great stuff right there, congratulations again and thank you @lvincentpoupard !!
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

There are tons of people that want to learn and share knowledge. When you add on the fact that there are so many that try to make this community stronger on a daily basis, it makes it the perfect community for me to be a part of.

Congrats LP! People, this guy is super awesome-sauce. He writes a lot of really cool horror stuff, and even local news stories online. What's more? He also dedicates some of his time to helping others with their writing careers. This honor is truly deserved. :)
