This is how I suggested it. We are aware of the need for this feature and I am sure it will get implemented sooner then later.

Additionally, I was wondering if we'll get "warning" emails or Mahalo "questions" letting us know we're about to lose a page unless we take action. What a chore that would be for Mahalo to orchestrate that (I imagine), but I'd hate to think I just updated Page A two days ago, only to find out it was Page B instead and now Page A is gone forever.
Of course, adding the time stamps as you suggest would remedy that same problem as well. But it seems odd that we wouldn't get any notification.
This 7 day limit is difficult on its own - it isn't easy trying to keep up with the job without the right tools.

Also, it would be helpful, if Mahalo sent reminds or tips on how to improve the page. I'm upset my Utah page was taken from me. I felt like very little input was given. Perhaps, a template approach to page improvements would be helpful; where a template of facts to be looked up is sent out by the Mahalo mentor. More facilitation needs to be done.

Suggestion: "Last Updated" on Mahalo 2.0 pages
Although Mahalo has assured us that they will be cool on the loss/abandonment of Mahalo 2.0 pages we have claimed, it would be useful for page managers (and the community as a whole) to see when the page was last updated.
Is it possible to have that information on the pages? Maybe on the bottom of each page, just have a date stamp that says, "Page updated June 1, 2009 12:34 pm."
I'm guessing the "View History" feature on these pages will provide that information, but it doesn't look like it's up and running yet, so I think this would be useful in the meantime.
What do other folks think?

That is perfect jeffhoard...exactly the way I would like it to show up. Right now, I am using a spread sheet, but with 80+ pages, it is confusing. Great idea!!

I agree that the page updates showing who has done what should be listed in the page history. But you are right, it seems that feature is not up and running yet. This could be similar to what wikipedia has which shows all the changes that have been made to a page.

Absolutely - I think you're completely right on with this concern. I feel like I almost have to keep a journal right now to remind myself which page was updated last on which day. Doesn't make any sense. Additionally, I was wondering if we'll get "warning" emails or Mahalo "questions" letting us know we're about to lose a page unless we take action. Yup, that's the plan, you should get an email notification after 10 days, then you'll have 5 additional days to update.
Grabbed this from the handy How Mahalo Works page.
---quote---
As page manager, you will be required to make at least one significant contribution to your page every 10 days. If you do not make any significant edits to your page in 10 days, you will receive a warning by e-mail. After that, you have 5 days to make an edit. After 15 days, the page will be taken away from you and recirculated into our system.
A significant contribution would include things like adding a new section to the guide note, updating the material that is already there to include recent changes or submitting new and informative links. The page manager is also responsible for reviewing other users' contributions to their pages. Incoming alterations that make the page less informative, accurate or useful should be removed within a few days.

Cool, thanks Jeff. I thought I had read that page already - but obviously I missed that part (or it's new). In any event thanks for clearing that up for me, that's great information.

Yeah, I didn't realize until after I asked the question that somebody had already asked it. Shows how good I am at research...
