I thought i'd provide you with a Business/Information Technology update.

On July 30, 2009 McAfee announced they had acquired the rights to buy MX Logic in a deal worth $140M cash upfront and possibly an extra $30M cash later dependent on future performance.

This is quite an important deal for McAfee as it means that McAfee will have a world-leading cloud-based security portfolio. This should engineer significant growth opportunities for the company and could also make McAfee a potential takeover target at some point in the not too distant future.

I've updated my McAfee page that I manage to reflect this, i'd sure welcome any opinions as to A) If this update is what is required for this question, B) This is the sort of update required in general and C) If this update is of any interest to anybody?

Here's my Mahalo page:

Update for Cash for Clunkers Extended

(this is added as a new text section directly under Fast Facts and relates to the second paragraph in my guide note)

Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader is quoted as saying "We'll pass cash for clunkers before we leave here." The Senate is due for a four month recess beginning the end of the first week in August, 2009.

Democrats and Republicans have both expressed concerns over where the funds will come from and what other provisions should be added to the bill before approval.http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2009-08-04-clunkers_N.htm?obref=obnetwork

Update for Shark Week 2009 Discovery Channel

(This is added as a new text section in date order on left column... adding new sections each day as applicable. Also adding latest video to right side of page to keep them coming back for video updates)

August 4: Sharkbite Summer
In the summer of 2001 shark attacks increased markedly. In this installment of Shark Week The Discovery Channel revisits the locations of the attacks, and interviews the witnesses, the victims, surgeons and others to get the full story.

August 5: Great White Appetite
In this installment, The Discovery Channel is exploring the Great White Shark... specifically its eating habits. Join them on their journey as they travel to the feeding grounds of the Great White and watch as scientists try to uncover the secrets of the Great White's appetite.

i didn't add links specifically for those updates because the links are all over the page already in other things i've done.

added video support for these stories on the right side of the page.

Great updates Smartweb.
I made a couple minor adjustments to the note, for one I removed the "more on this story below" I think you've summarized the story good enough to be part of the top guide note.

As the news story develops you can move old news down below the Fast Facts and keep the freshest bits at the top, keep an eye on this developing news story :D looks like a great job so far

I just updated my Alaska Airlines page with two recent news items: One stating that the passenger traffic has inched up last month, and one -in Mahalo style- about a new non-stop flight between Portland and Maui.

Also just in: website Examiner.com had an interview with Punch Productions]. An interview which of course found its way to my inFAMOUS game page.

And a third notable news-item:
The Body Shop has joined the ECPAT in Singapore in a campaign against global sex trade and child abuse. All proceeds from the sale of the product 'Soft Hands Kind Heart Hand Cream' will go to support ECPAT. So, next to a news item, I also placed the product as a 'Featured' on the page.

I like the Alaska Airlines update because it shows how a less-obvious newsy Topic Page can still have news updates.
