Thanks for all your efforts with these vids! I'm sure they're helping a lot of people.
In my case though I can figure most of that stuff out for myself, it's nice to see you're looking at the same things I do. Leads to a warm feeling of: "If Rob's doing that too, I must be doing something right!" :)
I have a suggestion for future videos in this series...if you want to make more...
It's great to have info, but the really interesting thing is how that info can be used to guide improvements. So maybe an example or two of something you discovered with Analytics, and how you put that knowledge to use.

Thanks so much for this helpful information. On the Google Analytics for Page Managers something is wrong with the link for How To Use Use Google Analytics With Mahalo, it links to a page that doesn't exist.

Google Analytics - More Information
A couple of days ago, the ability to use Google Analytics to track the Mahalo Topic Pages that you manage was officially announced and described.
To follow up, I've created 2 more videos that look deeper into Google Analytics.
The videos are both located on this page:
Google Analytics for Page Managers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ScnBRNhVOo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sXFLZ4CiYc
If you have any questions or comments about Google Analytics, I'd be happy to help - shoot them out here!

Thank you so much for your hard work. I just registered my page to Google Analytics according to your guide, but after I finished the registration, in the status column of my account there is a ! sign and when I hovered over it, it said "tracking unknown". Do you know what is wrong?

This is normal.
It will take some time for Google Analytics to start counting data. Until then that little "tracking unknown" message will stick around.

I'm not sure why our answers appear in our stats... but they do. You could compose a custom report to remove those pages if you're really concerned with it I guess.

I find it intriguing how much traffic some of our questions get! And they're often the most unexpected ones as well!
Not that we can do much with that info.

I didn't mean for these to be incredibly in depth. I was hoping that by making these videos that folks would be comfortable installing and using Google Analytics with Mahalo. I hope that this goal has worked out!
Now I have a real question for you...
What exactly do you think the bounce rate means here?
My understanding of how it's going to work with our Mahalo pages is this...
Google Analytics thinks all my Mahalo pages (and looks like questions I asked too!) make up one site. A bounce is when someone looks at one and only one page on that "site". If that is right then a bounce will still be recorded even if...
- The person looked at other Mahalo pages, but not at other pages that I personally manage
- The person may have clicked one of my off-sites links like a Top 7
- The person may have watched a video on my page
- The person may have clicked an ad
Is that you understanding also?
While we're at it, is there any way to see stats for those kinds of things?
The site overlay thing lets me see which links to my own pages were clicked, but nothing like whereabouts on the page gets most ad clicks.
