Hey folks, just thought I'd give you a tally to show where everybody is heading into the next two rounds of the tournament, and just like the actual tournament, it's wide-open for anyone to win. So here is your leaderboard:
- 47 points each for soundboy and matt_carter
- 44 points for jmd364
- 43 points each for shadowbear and asianboy
- 40 points each for playmynrd, davesplace, and jeffvirtanen
- 36 points each for trmbngrl, lauriem, and tsweetz
- 35 points for danno
- 34 points each for rdmcurator and jeffhoard
- 15 points for garyallen, who in fairness didn't submit a full set of brackets

In case you are curious, I would have 38 points right now if I were in this to win.

Some highlights:
FIRST ROUND:
- There was the potential to earn five bonus points for picking one of the 11-16 seeds that won in the 1st round. Those teams were Ohio in the Midwest, Murray State in the West, Cornell and Washington in the East, and Old Dominion in the South.
- All but five players earned at least one of these "lower seed bonus points" and two players (playmynrd and matt_carter) earned two bonus points
- The only player that correctly picked Ohio to upset Georgetown was playmynrd
- The 3 players that correctly picked Murray State to upset Vanderbilt were soundboy, matt_carter, and jmd364
- The 3 players that correctly picked Cornell to upset Temple were shadowbear, asianboy, and garyallen
- The 6 players that correctly picked Washington to upset Marquette were playmynrd, jeffvirtanen, matt_carter, trmbngrl, lauriem, jeffhoard
- NO ONE correctly picked Old Dominion to upset Notre Dame
- Only 2 players swept one of the first round regionals, correctly picking all eight games in that region. This was accomplished by soundboy and matt_carter, both of whom swept the West Regional
SECOND ROUND:
- Only two players correctly advanced Cornell into the Sweet 16: shadowbear and garyallen
- No one advanced Washington into the Sweet 16, the only other team that could have earned a 2-point bonus
- soundboy and davesplace correctly advanced all 4 teams in the West
- No one advanced Northern Iowa past Kansas into the Sweet 16. Only one person had Kansas not advancing to the Sweet 16, but that was because garyallen had Lehigh upsetting them in the 1st round. Seven players lost Kansas as a Final Four team and four lost them as their national champion.
- Only rdmcurator and jeffhoard still have a chance to correctly predict all four teams in the Final Four
- Only playmynrd predicted that Saint Mary's would defeat Villanova and advance to Sweet 16. Only two other people didn't have Villanova in the Sweet 16, but that was because asianboy and davesplace both picked Richmond to beat both St. Mary's and Villanova.

It is unfortunate that all of my brackets got cut off because I'd spent so much time typing them. However, the attached video was my source--they're all there--and that got me down to the final four--I just had to pick the Championship match-up, and then the winner. I remember Mike's coaching 20 years ago The man is intense and the entire ACC's butt got kicked by them then. I blew it on Georgetown going against Duke, but I didn't think anyone who got up against them had a chance.The champ was an easy choice for me.
