Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It may sound kind of obvious, but when I get to the grocery store, I really do look at the little newspaper circular they have at the door - it lists out everything that they have a sale on that day and most times, you can find at least ONE thing that will save you cash - and you'll also save time too: instead of comparison shopping, you already know what's the best buy.

Also, for new families out there - we wished that someone would have told us that Wal-Mart brand formula (called Parents Choice) is literally half the price of regular formula. Enfamil is like $25.00 a can - Parents Choice is $11.00. It has the EXACT same ingredients in it and our baby loves it. Formula alone would have put us in the poor house until we discovered the Parents Choice line. Seriously, they even have the Enamil ingredients and their ingredients side by side on the same label. Impressive.

In fact, there's another cost saver right there - buy the store brand! Especially meds like ibuprophen and cold remedy stuff - it's the same thing. It's the exact same thing!!! You can save so much cash that way, it's just ridiculous. Buy the store brand canned veggies too. Instead of a $1.00 for your Green Giant green beans, get the store brand and pay $.50. It's just basic math!!

We try to collect coupons too but we find them hard to keep track of. Perhaps it's an organizational thing, but many people are into the coupons. Give it a try!

I totally agree with you breast feeding is the best thnig all the way around - but my wife's bady didn't agree and stopped at about 6 weeks. It happens, but it's not the end of the world!

Ew and I agree - SOME things you have to get the real thing. Like cheese. Go ahead and spring for the Kraft shredded cheese. Store brand is... unacceptable. Along with the tooth floss!

I'm into the coupon book idea. We'll try it. Hopefully before the coupons expire! :)

What about breast feeding? My sister did it for a while. Then stopped and went to formula! Even at $11 a can that's still expensive.

I like the idea of store brand items. Just don't buy store brand or lower brand tooth floss, some types of paper towel and ... what was the other thing...hmmm...I can't remember now.

About coupons, keep a little notebook and tape the coupons up alphabetically per brand. I tried it two other ways before this, both failed miserbly. Just take the notebook with you where ever you go.

I wish someone had told me right away about the formula thing too. When my twins were about 6 months old I had to switch to formula for my own health reasons and went into shock with the cost of formula. One of my boys had to have the special Enfamil stuff too. I finally tried the Walmart brand and it was the only other one that he could actually drink. I really wish I'd known that from the start..

Since everyone is looking for something different, I've found that the only place to please everyone would be SlickDeals. http://slickdeals.net/

On the front page as of December 10th (be aware this changes not only daily.. but almost hourly) you can pick up a Dell Vostro 1015 for $409. That's a savings of $180!

I found and ordered a Land's End Ladies' microfiber Rain Hat for $2 bucks!

I also found a Wilderness Survival Flint Steel Fire Striker for just $1.50! That would be the perfect stocking stuffer for the caveman in your life!

I have found and ordered countless items from specials I have seen on SlickDeals. You have to check it out for yourself. Believe me... there's something for everyone here. Each item has a link with a code, but you have to check often since some of the deals sell out within hours!

What did you find?

Well one thing I have seen on Amazon.com is while purchasing your Christmas gifts, you might buy gift cards. If you purchase a 50 dollar Amazon.com gift card you get an extra 5 bucks to spend on yourself So that's pretty nice!

not sure that this one will win as there are so many great offers listed but if this is chosen I think any of the gift cards from the Mahalo store would be a great Mahalo deal of the week! Especially the Wal-mart, or amazon :)

For handmade items try etsy.com or artfire.com
For free stuff looking at what Craigslist or Freecycle.org have to offer is usually good.
For building supplies I'd suggest Re-Store (part of Habitat for Humanity). They often have furnishings as well as things like windows, doors, etc. so it's a great place to go if you're looking for a living room set or new oven too. The one near us generally has ovens listed at about $60 and some of them are still in the manufacturers packaging. There are a lot of good things to be found there.

this code will get u 20% off anything on skullcandy.com discount4u
this code will get u 20% off anything on skinit.com twit20
those are just some of the places i like to shop online at.
And what I think the mahalo deal of the week should be is that every thing in the mahalo store is 50% for the week or even just 15 or 20% off thats my opinion.

I personally feel that there two very attractive deals to be made.1. Buy 50$ Amazon gift card. We wil also get 5bucks as extra bonus. this is very nice and impressive.2. Buy any of the gift cards from Mahalo store. This would be the best deal in my opinion.

The best deal of the week was in a local grocery store. They had the large 2 lb 7 oz can of FOLGERS coffee for $5 (regularly $9.99). Too bad I didn't have the $1 coupon on Folgers instead of Maxwell House!

As for the Mahalo special of the week how about offering the winner of this question 1/2 off of their next purchase in the Mahalo Store?

To get the best deals online - I use MrRebates.com They not only offer rebates, but also have special promotions/online coupons to use on the site that your shopping at. You get your rebates sent to you in a check after you reach like $10 - so not hard to get to. Especially with Christmas right around the corner, we need to be saving all we can! Unfortunately, Christmas shopping gets expensive.

As for what I want to see as a discounted Mahalo store item - definitely the gift cards! But, I am working towards an ipad, and so I would love to see that get a generous discount! lol

I'm surprised to see that no one mentioned Groupon. The deals vary by location, but they always have great deals and often have deals that are more national.

You may not find a great Groupon deal every day or even every week, but when I do find a deal I want, it is great since the savings is almost always over 50% off the retail. As an example, a few months ago I was able to get a one year subscription to the Sunday newspaper for $12. That was a huge win - $5-$10 in coupons each week for $12 a year.

They also had a well-publicized deal with Gap earlier in the year where buyers would get $50 at Gap for $25. In terms of savings, I find this to be one of the best places to get great deals.
