News + Question of the Day Sunday 3 May 2009

Hi members,
After last Thursday's dilemma with a Twitter member winning and no way of giving the tip unless he/she signs up - the new solution is this. If a Twitter member wins, the $10 tip will be "rolled over" to the next day.

So yeah, it is possible that one member could win $100!
Also, there are a LOT of things to come in Question of the Day. So keep watching and keep voting...!

I vote for Orange. Questions about what you don't like are some of the most entertaing of all the opinion questions. Can the tip be awarded posthumously just in case the mask doesn't help and swine flu gets the best of Orange?

Asker's Rating:
• Brilliant answer and well done @orange for his great answer "What is your biggest pet peeve in real life and on the internet?"

Laughing out loud @bunnyphuphu!

The only possibilities of it happening is if @robbrown and I decide to give it out one day or 10 Twitter answers are chosen consecutively...!

@cjd... might be better just to not include people w/o proper Mahalo accounts in the QOTD. Whether they're asking from Twitter, email or whatever.

I don't think it's a bad idea to put Twitter questions in the poll, but perhaps limit yourself to only having one unregistered twitter question per poll.

If they win, send them a @ reply on twitter letting them know they won and direct them to the thread, all they have to do is connect their accounts and they get the money... and we might get a new member :D

Another option... If the Twitter question was imported, you could say $5 goes to the importer and $5 goes to the asker. If the asker never claims their prize the $5 rolls over.

@jeffhoard... nice idea to tip the importer. Would be an incentive to import quality questions.

Though personally I can never tell what will make the QOTD shortlist. It's rarely the ones I find most intriguing. :)

@philipy - I thought of that idea - but then some Twitter questions are brilliant. I feel that there was quite a lot of hassle with the last one. However, the idea of the importer is quite interesting...

I vote for...
http://d869g1fflgodk.cloudfront.net/hushnow/William_Christmas_050_(2).jpg
Hushnow asks
"Would you move in with your parents (or your children) if it meant being debt free by the end of this year?"

An interesting question that ALSO provided several interesting and thought provoking answers.

I often enjoy the questions that have several alternate answers; those that can make you think a bit.

My vote goes to my purple buddy Orange. It's interesting to see what people dislike about the Internet. Also it got a big response.
