Well, they usually start on mondays, and they used to start about each week. There used to be regular updates here in the Q&A section, but that has grown pretty silent lately.
You can recognize these Q&A posts by checking for 'Barnraising #x Leaderboard' or 'Barnraising #x RESULTS', or similar.
One example is here Barnraising #4 Leaderboard.
There is currently a 1000-tasks-big barnraising, so that wone will probably be ongoing for at least one more week.
Hope this helps!

funny... i was just looking for a leaderboard when i saw your question! =D
smaller barnraisings last a week. staff tries to let all the entries come in and be approved before declaring a winner.
i expect this barnraising will last longer, as it is more than twice as big as any we've done before.
@lon normally announces it in Mahalo Answers when it starts, and there is a daily leaderboard in MA when staff has time. they have been pretty busy lately, but i'm expecting to see one soon.
if you ever don't see one, try searching just for the word "barnraising" in mahalo answers and it will bring up all the threads - both announcements and leaderboards so you can be sure you haven't missed one.
then if there is not a current one, try sending a message to @lon and ask him about it. he'll let you know if there is a reason one has not gone out... and if he has time, he'll probably put one up. at least that's what "I" think he will do.
=)

Mahalo Barnraising when and who's in the lead?
It seems I never know when these things start or where the current leader board is. The page on mahalo Mahalo Barnraising Contest is outdated talking about contest #6 when on the tasks page there working on #8. So where do I go to find out who's in the lead? And how do I find out when the next one starts other than following Jason's tweets?
