COMMUNITY RECRUITMENT: Who wants to take over "question of the day" at Mahalo Answers? UPDATE: Our lucky volunteers are CJD and Robbrown!

We used to have an amazing feature called "Question of the day" in which we listed the best questions of the day, voted for them and then gave a M$10 prize based on who got the most votes.

Was wondering if someone in the community (or maybe two people) want to take this over for us. Here's how it works:

1. You make a list of the five best questions of the day (most interesting, fun, etc) and ask a question titles "Question of the day for Monday, April 27th 2009." with the question, a link to the question and the users avatar.

2. We can do this at any time, but it would be good for it to come out at the same time... say noon PST/3pm EST every day.

3. You put a M$1 tip on the question, but the winner of best question of the day gets M$10.

4. Let folks vote which question they like most and the winner chosen by votes gets the prize (so you have to manually read the answers a day or two later and tally up the votes which are in the answes). Pick the person who gave the best rational as to who should have one best answer to be the "question of the day... " question.

5. Directly send the winner M$10.

We're thinking a brown belt or two or better would be best. Person who does this obviously gets a lot of points because they splash around some cash. :-) If two or three brown belts want to take this over we will do that too.

I would abosultely love to do it...but I am not brown belt. So it looks like I have no chance of getting it.

I have been trying hard in the community recently - so maybe in the future I could get this position.

I'll be looking forward to the lucky member who gets this oppurtunity of choosing question of the day!

There's only seven brown belts, and three of them are Mahalo staff!

So when Jason suggests "two or three brown belts".... well, that would mean most of the non-Mahalo brown belts. :)

I think if the right purple belt were interested we would do it with them. :-)

I'd like to officially come out in support of CJD's candidacy for the position. Purple belt or no, I have no doubt you're up to the task.

Seems like it was a popular feature before.

Looking forward to seeing who steps up to take it over - should be great - always fun to 'vote' on excellent questions - and this will help to improve question quality and possibly numbers of questions overall...

Can't wait until you get this going!
Now I can see the Question of the Day in action, instead of doing it all alone in my head.

Can I apply?
I'd love to help out.

Maybe CJD and anyone else who is approved (maybe like me?!?) can split up days and fill in when the other person is away?
