I'm giving this one last try with @effhoard's answer from the "I'm losing interest in Mahalo," question.

Jeffhoard's answer

Jeffhoard seems to take it upon himself to show Buttonpusher what else one can do here at Mahalo to make more money, as well as improve the community and adding to it. He gives the suggestion of trying our page building and tasks, voting on undecided questions and even mentions how the Answer of the Day contests can benefit him and the community.

Again, @jeffhoard shows why he's a 2nd degree black belt in Mahalonomics.

I don't mean to get Jeff in any trouble here, but when he says "not on my watch", I believe him. Mahalo may be founded by Jason, but to me, Jeff is the big Kahuna when it comes to keeping things in order. And, while I know that @buttonpusher has some valid points, Jeff is always around to keep everything in perspective.

Long live the Sheriff!!

P.S. I'm not a fan of "Goma-suri" (or posterior kissing in English), but I truly appreciate the work that Jeff does on a daily basis.

I would like to nominate @briansan for his answer to the question Are you hesitant to vote "Interesting" because it costs Mahalo Money?

Brian San's Answer

http://d869g1fflgodk.cloudfront.net/brian_san/mahaloicon2.jpg

I bat that if I was watching closely, I could nominate one of Brian's answers every day of the week.

Our underexposed friend from the other side of the world had a great answer to this question. He starts by answering it directly and then provides a possible solution. Together, the acknowledgment of the problem and the interesting solution form a solid answer.

Thanks!

I accept this nomination under the grounds that you watch for symptoms of Mahalo swollen head or any questions relating to "should Olivia Munn run for president?".

Everybody has business of some sort and most of us want more of it right?

Today I would be happy to nominate @psycgirl for her articulate, experienced and well sourced answer to this question.

How to lure customers to your business?

She offers clearly several techniques, suggestions and personal examples of how we can be and how she has been successful at attracting more customers to our businesses.

Great job @psycgirl

I'm going to vote for @beefymexican and his answer to one of life's everyday questions: How much would it cost to transport 1 billion dollars in gold from Uranus to Earth? posed by AOTD's biggest fan, @albanian.

I don't get the impression that @beefymexican works for NASA, rather that he took his time researching, crunching numbers and providing an excellent answer to an interesting question that may not have received the attention it deserved in the past.

Great Job!

@beefymexican - the minimum distance between Uranus and earth is about 1.6 BILLION miles not million. It will be much more expensive than you worked out.

just trying to correct the mistake in the number crunch!

@stanar,
Yet another reason I enjoy Mahalo. Fact Checking!

IMO that answer doesn't qualify for AOTD, not just because of the number error, but the answer didn't address any of the issues related to that mission, not even a word.

@albanian is going to love this!

I will go with @gno today with her answer to @briansan's question
How would mahalo change if all users were anonymous?

She shows how important the human touch is to Mahalo and how we'd be lost without it.
In her words... "B-O-R-I-N-G!"

I nominate @duenhsiyen

Read her answer to my question, "Why does the earth have a 78% nitrogen ratio? What is the source of nitrogen?"

The answer was excellent.

aduenhsiyen, I would still like to understand the math behind the transmutation theory.

Hey Dave, please try not to nominate answers that have already been chosen for "Best Answer".

Also remember to vote another answer helpful or your nomination is void.

Wow! I just happen to run across this just now, that I was nominated for best answer of the day by davepamn. What a pleasant surprise! When these nominations go out, do the nominees get a notification? If so, I guess I missed it because I'm following so many questions! ha ha
