I searched for books.
http://www.kosmix.com/search/books
Note: What struck me immediately is the variety of information that this search pulled in. I did not know that NPR had a "Book Radio" program... which I can now monitor... It pulled up book groups, videos, recommendations, and even reviews and products like t-shirts with book related themes. All of these can become sources of further information for my page.
I believe that the most important part of the page for me, though, was the "Related in the Kosmos" section. Using these lists, I can enhance my page on the right side, providing links to the type of information contained there. And it gives a lot of great ideas for related Mahalo pages that I can link to, and then either I or someone else can make those pages.
(If anyone is interested, contact me and I'll give you some page ideas as I build out those sections. I'm probably not going to be making the related pages myself.)

The search engine showed the Google results as well as some more interesting sites. For example, I never been to slate.com.
The search also provide me blogs and conversations, without having to give a search for blogs.
It seems interesting to me.

Contest: Try using Kosmix to generate ideas for Mahalo topic pages!
Kosmix is a semantic search engine. Try searching at least one Mahalo page topic, and come back here and post a link to the results, an in-link to your Mahalo topic page and a Note: about what you learned. An in-link is created by typing the title of your page enclosed in double square brackets.
If you are not currently managing any Mahalo pages, try searching for a term that interests you, post the Kosmix search link in your answer and include a note about the topic you will explore further.

I searched for ideas for the Sewing page:
http://www.kosmix.com/search/sewing
Note: I will use information in sewing equipment section to add new information to the Sewing Notions page.
------
I searched for ideas for the Semantic Web page:
http://www.kosmix.com/search/semantic+web
Note: I got an idea for breaking down the Early Adopters section of the Semantic Web and found a new journal to subscribe to.
Winner will be selected based on most interesting findings in Note: posted.

It sounds like the Kosmix search was very beneficial for you. Displaying the found items in groups definitely saves doing different searches or displays for different types of things. I agree that the 'Related in the Kosmos' section is an excellent source for building and managing related pages.

I just read your blog post. I like the suggestion in 'Related in the Kosmos' as potential for SEO. Now we just need a tool that puts the Google Adwords search stats next to the 'Related in the Kosmos' terms and we have a new SEO tool
I would think Kosmix would be useful for bloggers who need new related topic ideas.

Hi @socalsue. Thanks for your comment. With regards to Semantic Web Technologies, I have to admit that I have just started to get familiar with it. anyway, i will also head over to Semantic Web page and instruct myself a little bit more:)
Reagrding Kosmix, yeah, that would be great would it not, lol - Googles adWord tool next to related to the Kosmos:) Kosmix is indeed a great tool for blogger to get ideas about almost everything. They approach search quite differently (semantic?) and this is why I use it as a tool, rather than a search engine. Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog.
