You might want to try viewing the site with another browser (e.g. Firefox, Chrome) and see if it also happens with those browsers.
If it doesn't, you might want to go to Microsoft Update (http://update.microsoft.com) and download and install any critical or recommended updates for Windows and IE.
If Mahalo's developers were using the latest and greatest version of IE as a testbed, and you happen to have a version prior to that, there might be some subtle difference which causes your version not to act as expected

So I tried logging in to Mahalo using Google Chrome. The response is much faster. I think I'll be using Chrome for most of my Internet work. That is unless there's some compatibility problem that forces me to use IE.

I am a newbie to this site that I found to be interesting than other answer-question sites. Love the image. My question, why does your site hang up my computer. It always freezes...I don't have any virius, spywares,. My computer has a physical checkup every other night...Its OK!! I have been trying to answered questions or post questions..Ooops it freezes..What could it be to freeze when I'm on your site only? Does you site live IE 7? I don't have any "freezing" problems on other sites...

Funny you should say that. I just experienced some really slow response times with IE 7. (I use Windows Vista.) I opened my task bar and it was taking up 25% of my CPU. I don't know why. No other applications were running. So I tried logging in to Mahalo using Google Chrome. The response is much faster. I think I'll be using Chrome for most of my Internet work. That is unless there's some compatibility problem that forces me to use IE.
