The site speed issues are generally not related to your computer's speed, internet speed, memory capacity, ISP bandwidth. It is an internal Mahalo problem that we are working on.

As for the login issues, if it gets stuck at the spinning progress circle, you can try pressing login again or refresh and retry logging in. It will eventually work, even if sometimes it takes you back to the homepage without being logged in. Frustrating, I know, but again, we are working on it.

Thanks for your patience!

I'm having the login problem too.I just click login about 5 times and it eventually works.

I also have 'new direct messages' written at the top and can't get rid of them, no matter how many times I read the messages.

Hey... regarding the 'new direct message' just go back to it. reply to it again. Just type in "bump" or whatever you want. Send it and refresh and you're good to go.
With the slow load time... it might be your browser. I stopped using IE8 since I'm impatient and it's too slow. Try another browser like Chrome. (just an idea...)

@bunny, you mean reply to your own answer? It doesn't let you answer the question again.

Update, ah yes I replied to my own comment and it worked! Thanks for the tip.

Thanks @bunnyphuphu for your tip, I'll try the bump thing.
I'm using Chrome and Firefox 3.5, which are both superfast, so I don't think its that! :)

I also have problems with login. After clicking the login button once, I often get that loading message that you mention, but then I click login a 2nd time and then it works. I hope they can fix this bug.

For loading speed, what browser do you use? I just got the new FireFox 3.5 and so far it has been pretty fast with this site. If it's not the browser, it could be that the site was just going slow at the time for some reason.

I've been having login problems ever since Mahalo 2.0 came online. It is crazy making. I can't find a pattern to it either.

SOMETIMES (and I do mean sometimes) I can get through login better, faster when logging in from the Mahalo Answers page easier. Why? no clue. Why it is different? no clue.

Other attempts:

IF you had saved Mahalo passwords on your browser, delete and reset them. NOt sure if this made a difference, yet.

Maybe USERNAME and passwords are now case sensitive and they weren't before. not sure I can't remember. Just something else I tried.

SLOWNESS:
Everything has been SLOOOOWWWW for me since 2.0 came online. Nothing I have done has made things better. SO I will be watching your question for any help for myself as well.

Best of luck.

I have a different problem with my direct questions: I can't access them at all. When I try, I get a "we're currently working on this site" message.

What's up with that?

Yes, Mahalo has some problems that need to be worked out by the technical staff. As far as your problems go, for the first one, clicking on login again after waiting a few moments usually works. Don't ask why. As for the website being slow, at least for me, it has always been slow, even before 2.0, and will probably be slow until I get a new computer and faster Internet. However, if you are using Internet Explorer, use a different web browser. Internet Explorer is slow normally, but on this website it is almost unusable. Personally, I like Opera.

I hope that this helps.

a variety of things. Your internet connection, your computer, Mahalo (admins would answer this)... ANYTHING between your connection to the internet and Mahalo, in other words.

Does it happen during certain times of the day? Keep a log. It could be your ISP is very busy. Or Mahaho is very busy.

Hope it improves for you.

Don't worry everyone, Mahalo is aware of the problems and bugs here in Answers. As soon as everything gets worked out with the M2 they will be working on the new and approved Answers. It's going to blow everyone away!
