I think the pinned notice is sufficient, no need to send out an email, hopefully it will only affect the people who are using the site right now.

Really? Spent some time composing an email to Jason, taking a screen shot, reviewing the terms of service, logging in and out, looking for an email stating that I had been banned and why, all before the pinned note came up.

I started hyperventilating. Seriously. I was wracking my brain, trying to figure out which of my answers could have possibly violated the terms of service? If there's one thing I hate, it's being misunderstood, especially through my own mistake or carelessness! Thanks to Mahalo staff for squashing this quickly! I was not looking forward to tossing and turning all night, wondering who I had offended!

The terms of conditions does say that Mahalo can terminate the account for any reason. Any copyright information, reverse engineering, or general obnoxiousness can cause termination.
I carefully read the terms and conditions and conclude Mahalo didn't like my content.
I think Mahalo should send a justification or create a rebuttal process, if you account is terminated. The termination notice, slams the door, and says "your out!" Mahalo should rework their termination process and provide a rebuttal hearing.

Thanks for your efforts.
You reveal a missing process in the Mahalo website.
You should include a feedback box under the terminate notice that allows the individual to rebuttal back. The termination notice should include charges and reasons for the termination and a chance for each of the reasons to be rebuttalled.
The black belts then should cast their vote and all this information needs to be visible on the site. If the vote is in the majority than the account if terminated. Also, allow others from the community to cast a friend or foe vote.
