They're all from iPhone questions, and as best as I can tell, it's the location of the asker. @markjeffrey , who is the CTO at Mahalo asks quite a few of these, and his location comes up as Mahalo's office in Santa Monica, which is probably where he is. Example
@leachypeachy asked This one about bars in Boston, and his map came up as a location in Boston, which I'm guessing is where he is located. Most of his maps come up as boston (haven't checked to see if they're all the exact same place)
Though I of course have no idea, this is just my guess. I'm wondering if maybe blank maps are from people who don't have GPS enabled.

Google Maps in many questions?
I've noticed that Google Maps are being inserted into questions that really don't require a location. (For instance: http://www.mahalo.com/answers/from-iphone/who-is-this-guy-4)
Is this a bug?
It sure is annoying to have to wait for that to load and to have to scroll past it to get to other information...

I noticed this. I hope it's just a bug, and i hope it will be fixed soon. Since I'm on a dialup connection* I'm always struggling with page downloads...but I'm happily pleased with how quickly most pages on mahalo.com load. The random, useless map is a bandwidth hog!
