Bug: I clicked 'email me answers to this question' and I later answered the question. I was emailed a notification email about my own answer
Steps to reproduce:
1. Visit a question. The question I visited had no answers yet, but I'm not sure if that matters or not.
2. Click 'email me answers to this question'.
3. Later, return to the question and answer it.
4. Check your email. You'll have received an email notifying you of a new answer ... your own answer.

How did you do Step 2 without answering the question? (do you have a screenshot of where you click this button?)
As far as I know you can only sign up for email alerts by submitting an answer in the first place?

Side note: I wonder why Google thought that a nail fungus cure was relevant to this page? ;)
I see the link you're talking about now, I bet that particular link will just literally send you an email whenever the question is answered, even if its by yourself, a slight oversight obviously, but I wonder how often users are effected by it?
It may not be high on the priority list right now, so in the future when you use that particular notification just keep in mind you might get your own answer after you click it.
The workarounds. Use the method I posted above, or click that link only after you answer the question.
