SUGGESTION: Charity Feature?

Why not give your tips to a good cause - to charity? This is only a suggestions, so what do you think?

Could every time you donate $1 you get "5 points" - of course, we are not looking for the points, but we are being rewarded as good citizens for donating to a good cause.

You could select various charities.

Like the Top Members feature at the moment (http://www.mahalo.com/answers/top_members) - there could be a chart for the most donations to charity (Top Donators).

Include the following points in your answer:

1) Your Opinion
2) Extra Thoughts
3) A nice photo of charity

2) Kiva Spirit Foundation (http://www.kivaspirit.org ) should be one of the top charities... heath and wellness for everyone! Don't wait for this suggestion. Go right now to the web page to make a donation! Tax deductable! 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
3) The executive director:

This comes up a lot actually. Although Mahalo doesn't have yet an automated charity feature, MA brown belt @robbrown has a group for us set-up at Kiva.org, (no relation to Dr.Matts foundation), our group has 12 Mahalo Answers members and has already loaned over $600.

It's a Mirco-loan organization where you can loan money to a 3rd world entrepreneur, different from donations because that entrepreneur works to pay off your loan (I notice it takes about a year) the beauty is, once the loan is paid off you can then re-loan to another entrepreneur on the website.

It works with Paypal, so once you get your Mahalo Payment you can choose to donate directly to Kiva, connecting charities to Mahalo might be a bit more difficult, but the more successful our service gets, the easier opportunities will be, so let's all work on growing MA :)

Here is PBS Frontline Segment on how it works

We are going to have, in all likelihood, a gift card and donation program by the summer. So, imagine being able to get a Zappos. JetBlue or NetFlix gift card or donate to a list of charities directly from your member page.

We're working on it right after Mahalo 2.0 is launched next month.
