I like that idea quite a bit, actually. I think it would help solve the problem of generating more traffic and answers for the 25-centers. Hopefully since money is still a better motivator, many people will still decide to offer a substantial tip for their questions....but...us po' people deserve to have questions answered, too.
Plus I think it's very appropriate that users gain extra experience for helping out the underdog questions. It takes a lot of character and patience to go through and answer a bunch of cheap questions - seems fair to give a nice experience reward!

No. I usually try to answer questions that I find interesting or have an answer for, regardless of the tip. If it is a good answer, you will get more points if it is selected as a best answer. I just think that with all the twitter questions it is easy to get lost in the volume.

It's fine for some people to try only for the "big questions," though, because that's how they choose to spend their time here - and some of them tend to offer really-good answers, which is always good for the community.

Mahalo is adding a tip to all questions that don't offer a tip.
Should we get more points for questions that offer lower tips?
I think this would help answer more questions, since some people only go for the big tips.

I don't think so. It appears to me that users do give good answers to "less valuable" questions - even ones that don't offer anything in tips. It's fine for some people to try only for the "big questions," though, because that's how they choose to spend their time here - and some of them tend to offer really-good answers, which is always good for the community.
