I think it's a bit too early in the process to be handing out awards. Right now, it's obvious who is doing well (and she doesn't need ANY more acknowledgement... her head is already too big!).
I think it would be nice if JC rewards the top... oh... top 13 people in points.

"Mahalo Oscars" - "Mahaloscars" nominations and awards.
In my short time asking and answering questions at Mahalo Answers, I've come across some truly outstanding answers to very interesting questions.
While Mahaloscars not be the best name (he he he), I think that a large centralized award would add
an easy to identify dimension to the site.
Much like the belt levels, this award doesn't necessarily have to have a M$ value attached to it, but the ability to nominate a question and answer would be a fun way to recognize exceptional answers in keeping with the reward system Mahalo has in place. At the end of a year, all of the nominated questions could be reviewed by Mahalo Editors and the community could vote for the best.

However, I had the idea and wanted to jot it down somewhere anyway.
I think that the whole "awards process" would fit in line with the reward system that Mahalo Answers has in place. It could add an interesting marketable element to the site and who knows, if things explode around here, maybe turn into a sub-event at one of the web industry gatherings.
