How many votes does it take to get best answer?

I have been, on the suggestion of a question asked by a user here, voting from the oldest first rather than the newest to my limit each day in an attempt to clear the back log of questions from like.. May. I have noticed that some of these answers already had votes for best answer. How many votes does an answer have to receive before is decided and leaves the undecided section?

It's around 5 to 7. But I don't think there's a definite number, I figured it depends on the circumstances.

Here is my explanation.

I think you need 5 votes, if no other answer has a vote or if there's only one other vote for another answer.

7 votes if there is a vote for "No Best Answer".

I got my data from previous best answers received by votes. This is not exact just an estimate on how votes work. :D
