He is also the Community Manager/Sheriff at Mahalo Answers, and has been a full time professional archivist and Internet researcher in Mahalo since February 2008.
He loves all things related to hockey and enjoys documentaries and the news
He is currently training to be a firefighter in Qualicum beach BC, where he lives with his wonderful fiancee.

WHO IS Jeff Hoard?
What makes a man like that tick?
The short answer is that Jeff, our Jeff, is the Community Manager here at Mahalo Answers. He is the self-proclaimed Sheriff who keeps this place peaceful and orderly. Beyond the borders of this website, he's a blogger and a Canadian (I'm sure he can't help it).
Describing himself, Jeff has said "I like to...blow my mind".
He runs his own website, the aptly-named www.jhoard.com. And he *claims* to look like this:

But according to my sources, this is an artist's rendering of what Jeff Hoard is actually believed to look like:

Tip gno for this answer"Jeff Hoard explains the Copy and Paste rules to a Mahalo newbie".
If you prefer to do that, so be it.
But the rest of us choose the *best* and most helpful answer.
I don't know what you think Mahalo is, but it's not a place to set a quiz that you know the answer to and give marks to whoever gets the right answer first. It's a place for people to help each other by sharing their knowledge, and it's not the quickest but the most thorough and helpful that are valued here.

"Jeff Hoard is the Mahalo Answers Community Manager, he has been working at Mahalo since February 2008 when he started out by checking incoming links in the now defunct "social" department. Prior to working at Mahalo Jeff worked for Netscape and AOL News. "

I know that it's part of his job as a community manager to find ways on how can he help other members but it's just that he's friendly enough that you won't be scared to approach him. Sometimes, when you have to speak to someone who has authority, there's this intimidating aura right? But since Jeff Hoard is so kind to all, it's easier to talk to him. ^^
Hmm... So there. That's how I see Jeff Hoard. He's one of the people I look up to here. ^^

Most of the answers above are accurate...with exception to @chriswingate's
I've been working with Mahalo for over two years now, first as a Serp Builder, the David Attenborough serp was my first in July 07. In February 08 I got hired as a full time guide helping manage experimental developments on Mahalo, most notably "Mahalo Social" which was retired with Answers was launched.
I've been the Community Manager of Mahalo Answers since it's launch in December 2008. My duties include introducing new users, answering questions about Mahalo and responding to all feedback (I get about 50 msgs a day give or take) - Also, along with @lesliec, I manage what appears on the Front Page of Mahalo answers, we take care of all the spam, abuse reports, inappropriate posts and deal with abusers, we investigate fraudulent users and ban anybody who violates the Terms of Service. I do my best to post interesting questions with generous tips to get users involved, periodically I'll post informative posts about how to use Mahalo or how to help make Mahalo better.
If you have any questions or concerns just let me know :)
