I don't use any other Q&A sites, and was not aware of their existence before I found Mahalo. Like most people I do ask and answer questions in forums.
What I like about MA is the friendly and intelligent community, combined with the fun of racking up best answers and M$. In the future I could also see MA being a nice source of income, but the tip levels would have to rise a lot for that!
What can be improved?
1) Fix the bugs! Like the tabs and page links on a user profile page that don't do anything
2) More filtering and sorting options to find questions that are interesting
3) A lot of questions seem to end up in a limbo with no best answer selected. This is very frustrating when you've put in the effort to research and write a good answer, and MA should figure out a way that a best answer always gets chosen within a reasonable timescale. (Ok for "No good answer" to be the result, but there should be a result!)
4) I would suggest using tags instead of categories. Questions don't often sit nicely in one and only one category. e.g. Mine about "How did you get started as a freelance writer?" Is it about writing, careers, money, or what? Well all of them!

I like the clean interface of Mahalo Answers as well as the well thought answers that I have been reading for the past couple of weeks.
My biggest request at the moment is for the site to be more user aware. When looking at just about any page it would be great if questions I had answered or voted on where either removed or marked off with another color.

That said, I wish there were fewer questions that could be answered with a quick Google search. It's not a hindrance, but I'm not tempted to answer them, either.

I don't use any other answer sites. I answer technical questions at discussions.apple.com but that is different. I like the clean interface of Mahalo Answers as well as the well thought answers that I have been reading for the past couple of weeks.

I've been on Predictify for awhile now, but prefer Mahalo. Predictify generally constrains the user to multiple choice responses, or a quantified response. I enjoy the essay-style responses on Mahalo. The between-user and between-admin interface on Mahalo is better, too. That said, I wish there were fewer questions that could be answered with a quick Google search. It's not a hindrance, but I'm not tempted to answer them, either.
