jasoncalac...
Of course, I only heard one side of the issue, but, the net-net is... Darcy asked that her account be closed.
Personally, with Darcy gone, we've lost a great asset to Mahalo Answers.

I just checked out the previous question on this topic and I sincerely hope that there will be an open discussion around this.
I realize @jasoncalacanis is out of the country now... but if this is left open for speculation and without comment, I will personally loose trust in Mahalo Answers.

A member of our staff will be making a statement shortly about what exactly happened. I'm very happy with the way our team handled it, and I think you will be as well. We did the best we could in a bad situation.

What happened to Darcy?
I was just thinking that I hadn't seen many Darcy Logan questions or answers lately and I clicked on her name and this message came up "This user has been banned for violating the terms of service." Yes while this is kind of an explanation does anyone know what happened?

Hard to believe, her account is turned off due to a violation? See

Mike will have a statement about this shortly after we've collected all the information in our investigation.

Love the avatar...
Yeah... I don't get the impression that Calacanis knows what's going on... and, again, I only heard one side of the story - some of which Darcy asked me not to reveal.
Personally, I would be disappointed with (and question) why a top performer would leave so abruptly. I'm hoping that there was a mis-communication somewhere and it can be resolved. Darcy's done quite a bit for MA.

What happened with the funds she had in her account?
Again, I'll hold judgment until we hear more... but something is wonky.

I am waiting for the official word, if and when this is issued. Until then, and with little information available, I second your thoughts nushka.

We are still looking in to the matter. Her account has been suspended and I will not comment until we finish investigating.

Very sad situation. I really loved Darcy's contributions to the system and wish she was still with us. A member of our staff will be making a statement shortly about what exactly happened. I'm very happy with the way our team handled it, and I think you will be as well. We did the best we could in a bad situation.

Likewise, it is is a very sad to lose Darcy, especially because everyone saw Darcy as an active participant in the Mahalo Answers community. I realize that sometimes things on the Internet aren't always as they seem to be, and since Darcy chose to close her account, there is nothing we can really do about it to get her back. This is a challenge with not only Mahalo Answers, but other online communities and websites where people interact and are rewarded. After reading the statement, I believe it's only the right thing for Mahalo Answers to abide by its own terms of service, and keep the site a meritocracy. This upholds the integrity of the community, but at the same time I don't know if this should have been mentioned publicly. However, since Darcy was such an active participant, it's understandable that participants have questions.
