What can I do to keep my purple belt?

My points keep creeping up and soon Mahalo might try to replace my purple belt with a brown one. I see no advantages that I would want, and I like purple and dislike brown. Brown is best known as the color of fecal matter and was the color of the Nazi's shirts. Very unpleasant associations, I would say. I won't even bring up black, looming in the distance, and its associations. Purple has many fine associations, such as the purple heart, purple prose, imperial purple, and as the colors of justice in Mardi Gras. Any recommendations?

There is something about the color purple.
Out of all the colors I have worn here... I'd say that purple was the most fun.

As @buddawiggi stated, you can always stay at purple if you want to.
(I'd ask them to remove the brown tip you currently have since it looks like you soiled yourself though...)

Whether you stay at purple or move up to brown, you'll always be @albanian.

Here's a toast! To perpetually purple people! *clink

Asker's Rating:
• Beer is one of the extremely few things that are better brown, on the whole, or even black. I like Purple Haze and buy a 6 pack from time to time (and it's one of the many beers that are even better on tap) but it's not really purple. Now Lindemans Framboise is nearly purple, and that's a heck of a good beer, in moderation.
Cheers!

Are you out of your Vulcan mind? I've watching daily for your Brown belt promotion. I expect to win mine in few days.

Vulcan? Thanks, I wasn't expecting a compliment. I like purple and not brown. There are no advantages that I see to being brown. So, it is logical to remain purple.
It will be a sad day for Mahalo if they promote you to brown, @davepamn, because you will probably submit even more random absurd questions. But it's not up to me.

According to about.com "Brown is a natural, down-to-earth neutral color. It is found in earth, wood, and stone. "
you should feel better about it .With in no time you are coming close to Nature .

Interesting question @albanian.

I think if you just sent a message to the staff asking that you not be tested then you would be able to forever keep your purple belt. There is one member on the leader board that has the points to be a 2nd degree black belt but remains a brown with a black tip. I would think this could be resolved with an email to Mahalo or direct message to either Jeff or Leslie.

Simple, mail staff at contact@mahalo.com. I read in an answer to a similar question (i'll try to see if I can find it), that you can request NOT to be put to the test for the brown-belt. If you are not tested, you won't get promoted to brown belt, and you can keep purple, I assume.

You could commit some grave offence that causes Mahalo to take away lot of points? :)

Alternately, you could think of it as a Mahogany Belt. Or a Dark Chocolate Belt.

Lots of good things are brown... soil, bark, chocolate, coffee... and dare I mention lots of people and quite a few animals....

A dark chocolate belt. Now I must admit I never thought of that. Chocolate goes very well with beer.

Why focus on the bad associations with a particular color? According to this Wikipedia article about color symbolisms, here are some good associations with the colors you mention:

Black: Black is classic, elegant, and sophisticated and gives of an air of intelligence (graduation gowns).

Brown: Since brown is the color of dirt it has an earthy, environmental quality. It also symbolizes calmness, boldness, richness and stability.
