(Although I also realize the link submission section of each page has been broken for months. http://www.mahalo.com/Special:Mahalouserlinks?page_id=1381462 that is a real problem Mahalo needs to fix)
Mahalo has an editorial process on how links are presented on the page, its been difficult enough to teach all 40(?) employees that standard, let alone 40,000+ users. The new editorial standards were implemented not too long ago, I think you just stumbled into a page that hasn't been updated. There are lots of older pages that still need updating, and I am sure Veronica's page will be updated after this post. Most pages get updated by curators once there is some sort of traffic spike on the topic.
Link editing is not open, not because Mahalo doesn't trust their users, but because it could become a moderating headache. In my humble opinion I appreciate the fact that each page has been built by actual employees and have not had random links added by users or fly by the night link builders. When I visit any Wiki page with an "edit" button at the top, it losses credibility instantly.
If you submit a link, it will get added if it ads value to the page. I don't know anything about "Runscape", but if you submit those links I am sure they will get added.

As for an explanation as to why the page is outdated, that's because we have tens of thousands of pages in our system. We certainly encourage the public to make suggestions and point out when pages need an update (as you have just done) to help us keep everything as fresh as possible. Unfortunately, unless a page is in the news or requires some kind of obvious update (if Ms. Belmont, for example, got a new high-profile job or did something significantly newsworthy), it can sometimes slip through the cracks.
As I was just about to update the page now, I noticed that another Mahooligan, Jeff Hoard, has already started improving the page. This is exactly the way Mahalo is intended to work - human curated results pages maintained by full-time employees and an active community of users. So just by bringing this to our attention, you have helped our site. Thanks again!

It's the same problem that plagues Knol pages. People are happy to edit wikipedia pages for free, because it's considered a resource. Here, or at Knol, money is involved, so instead of having autistic people who really, really care about a subject maintaining your articles, you have people who are trying to throw up as many half-ass pages as possible to get their share.
This is a broad generalization, and there are many people who write for Mahalo, and I'm sure Knol as well, who genuinely want to do a good job.

Why is the Veronica Belmont page is on Mahalo so horrible? Would you consider my ideas to Improve Mahalo?
I was checking out Mahalo, searched for Veronica Belmont, and saw the page. Look at the top 7 links:
1 - her site, but says Music and Medicine for some reason
2 - CNET TV , she does not work to CNET anymore
3 - Vox ?? No revelancy.
4 - Wikipedia - finally something useful
5 - Flickr - should be behind twitter
6 - Twitter - relevant content
7 - Pownce - hasn't updated in months
This page is absolutely horrible. The guide note is out-of-date, but at least I can update it, something I can't with the links. You guys should build a feature to allow users (or maybe only top users) to edit links. Yes, I know SEO exists, but you have to trust the community. Who's with me on this?
And before anyone suggests using the Recommended Links, it takes too much time.
To be a little useful, I am going to write here what I think should be the Top 7 links of VB:
1 - Blog veronicabelmont.com
2 - Twitter twitter.com/veronicabelmont
3 - Tekzilla Show tekzilla.com
4 - Sword and Laser
5 - Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veronica_Belmont
6 - her flickr
7 - maybe a tekzilla skit, but not her playing rock
----
I was just watching an episode of CalacanisCast where Jason invited a couple of SEOs to have a chat with him about Mahalo. They were all saying how they would make crunch Mahalo by gaming the system, and it got you guys scared of opening up the site, to become more Wikipedia-like.
SEO is most part a bunch of crap - one of the guest hosts said that the Disney page had an affiliate link, and the first time I saw it, about 2 years ago, I went to the Disney page and checked every link, they were quality links.
To finalize, I just want to say that it is not just Veronica's page that is completely out-of-date and irrelevant, all 15 Runescape-related pages on Mahalo have false information (like the game being Windows-based) and links to bad sites. Anyone that plays the game knows that the 3 most relevant sites for Runescape are tip.it, zybez.net, and runescape.wikia.com.
I hope my "question" generates a healthy discussion and I wish that it makes Mahalo better.

Every page has a "Link Submission" option, where you can submit links that you believe are missing from the page, Mahalo has a team of curators that receive each link and add them into the appropriate spot on the page, in a perfect world when those curators update the page with the new link they would ensure that the entire page is up to date, perhaps no new links have been submitted to the Belmont page in a long time. (Although I also realize the link submission section of each page has been broken for months. http://www.mahalo.com/Special:Mahalouserlinks?page_id=1381462 that is a real problem Mahalo needs to fix)

Yes, I was plugging in his suggested links, unfortunately the changes aren't showing up on "main" just yet. I am sure it's because of the weekend work the devs are doing?

Thankfully, the site remains functional. The developers have been working tirelessly all week on making Mahalo faster and stronger than ever before.

I'll answer your question with a question. What financial incentive do the writers of that page have to keep it up to date? It's the same problem that plagues Knol pages. People are happy to edit wikipedia pages for free, because it's considered a resource. Here, or at Knol, money is involved, so instead of having autistic people who really, really care about a subject maintaining your articles, you have people who are trying to throw up as many half-ass pages as possible to get their share.

There are many, many folks who work daily on Mahalo pages that are paid hourly, not per-page. Our job is to keep the site fresh and updated. (Hence the race to see who would be first to update Ms. Belmont's page.)
This is for the very reason you cite - there is no incentive for people who have already been paid to make a page to come back and update that page after the fact. We do have other people making pages for us on a freelance basis, but these pages then go into a system that is maintained by full-time staff.
