Should usernames be hidden that mark a question as 'uninteresting'?
I've never seen a question marked as uninteresting, probably because the usernames are shown publicly that mark questions as uninteresting.
If more people marked questions as uninteresting, perhaps that'd knock questions off the main answers page if there were enough uninteresting votes, compared to interesting votes.

There was a time when they were hidden and we noticed people abused them. Displaying the user names does make them a accountable for their actions.

hey, hi, hello, No, I don't care! I mark them. If I run into them accidentally and find them... well... not something that should generally be posted to a public forum. I try to give a HUGE block of salt, and not be judgmental, though. :)
Questions like: "do you think (blank name Celebrity) should wear red socks" for example.

just marked this question "uninteresting". what does it do?? But I do feel it is a valid question!!
hi again, okay. testing 1 2 3. It showed that krysstel said it was uninteresting. I will mark it back again to what I really think...... that it IS interesting....
can you tell I hang around a lot of software architects and systems programmers? (no I'm not one) :)

Why would people not mark a question as uninteresting because everyone else could see it? This is an online discussion forum, its nothing personal
Good point… why is there an uninteresting button, then?
No. I like the current system of showing usernames who vote both interesting and uninteresting. See my name up there? I liked this question: I voted this as interesting..
Remember a couple of weeks ago when Mahalo was buggy and the names didn't show for helpful/unhelpful. Users hated it. People were using it without regard. Personality conflicts erupted... Users were using it to be rude to other members.
I think at one point Mahalo thought people would use the uninteresting button like people use the unhelpful button, but its doesn't happen often. I've seen maybe one or two questions marked uninteresting.. It could be something they phase out later, but then people would yell 'if there's an interesting there needs to be a not interesting button as well"...
EDIT: ok all you who've never seen the uninteresting button used:

I think it should remain as it was designed. But the truth is answering whether it is an interesting question or not is a completely subjective thing... people are different and see the same things through different eyes.... and topics are of interest to some people and not to others. So in reality a person that is saying a question isn't interesting... can only say that it is not interesting to them. It is not a judgmental statement or a derogatory statement.... just not interesting to the person who read it.

No. People should be accountable for their actions. If someone has the time & energy to take the action, vote helpful or unhelpful, than they should be prepared to give feedback as to why that action needed to be taken. Hiding usernames would only encourage thoughtless actions.
A user name should be a a choice for someone to use on there site
but with me i dont mind usernames it make it much better to log on to
a site online then puting in a email address.

I'm not scared.
We all want to know what other people think and get feedback. We sould not take things personal, if somebody mark our question as no interesting. So, if we see their name, we should just be mature and think about why they found our question boring, or just forget abou it.
