If you compare the percentage use of Mahalo to the percentage of world internet users for each country, you get a better picture of what's going on. Doing this Japan and China are "under users", clearly because of language.
USA, Ireland and South Africa are "over users" - USA because of locality but why Ireland and South Africa I am not sure.
Sweden and Greece perform well amongst the non English countries.
NewZealand and Kenya are two English Speaking countries (Kenya also has many other languages) that don't make it to the list possibly because their number of internet users is low.

This should be a reminder to answerers not to assume that the questions are always about the USA. I try to be careful about this, although I forget sometimes. Many Americans don't even try.

If questions do not specify location, answer as though the person could live anywhere in the world.
If you are asking a question that may need a location-oriented response (especially things like stores), specify where you come from; at least the country, but the province or state is often helpful too!

WE are here to motivate mahalo and we have to help mahalo to make more people.
I think if mahalo encourages referring system we can expand our mahalo in a larger scale in many countries.

It looks cool. But I must add here only Mahalo guys can confirm this as Alexa results are not reliable as far as I am concerned. I think google analytics results are better. I used better because even they can deceive you a bit as google analytics cannot track guys whose browsers are disabled for javascript by them.

That's interesting. One can't tell where someone is from just by the questions and answers, although one can usually tell a non-native English speaker (unless they are very good or stick to simple remarks). But I am surprised that the percentage of Americans is down to 1/2 or so. This should be a reminder to answerers not to assume that the questions are always about the USA. I try to be careful about this, although I forget sometimes. Many Americans don't even try.

That's a good point. I didn't realize that about half of the visitors are from countries outside the US.

Yes, it's very hard not to ask questions about things in the U.S. But it's always better that more people are form your own country because they will know what you're talking about.

I'm part of that Canadian 3.7%. Most of the time, when people are asking more local questions (where can I get this product) I answer as though they are from the US. I hardly ever will answer with names of Canadian-exclusive stores, because I realize a very small amount of the population is Canadian. Infact, I've hardly come across other Canadians on the site at all! So I tend to either answer with American answers, or things like "google this term for your state or province"... of course, not everyone on the site is from US as we can all see, but the chances are pretty good really... If questions do not specify location, answer as though the person could live anywhere in the world.

Good report on the usage of Mahalo by net surfers of various countries . What we could infer from this and what I have come to know about mahalo is that as its frequented by Americans the question are mostly related to their land , language ,movies , singers hence we don"t feel total participation .( we wont be interested as who is 23rd , 24th american president or where we can find x band of singers !,What is popular tv show on american tv ) It would be of great idea to have country wise section where people can put in their local question . ( As in Yahoo answer )
Hope to see country wise section
