Mahalo Barnraising #4, Online Games, is underway!

Attention Casual Gamers! Our fourth barnraising contest has begun!

To participate, just grab any assignment from Mahalo Tasks labeled "BARNRAISING #4." The topic this time out is online games. We'll have two kinds of pages to build - individual games, or "types" of games (such as Free Racing Games). Complete the assignment, submit the task, get it accepted and you're good to go. Whomever completes the most tasks before we reach our goal of 150 wins!

You'll be competing for a grand total of M$150 in prizes. Here's the breakdown:

First Prize: M$50
Second Prize: M$40
Third Prize: M$30
Fourth Prize: M$20
Fifth Prize: M$10

Only a Top 5 this time, because of the shortened contest. So you'll have to be quick! But please remember, you'll still earn M$2 for every task that gets accepted, regardless of where you finish in the contest.

We'd also like to give you the opportunity to claim the game pages you've made once they're accepted. When you get your acceptance note back from a Mahalo staff member, write them back (or write me at @lon) and ask them if you can claim your page. Then, you will continue to earn more Mahalo Dollars for your page over time, as people visit it and click on the ads!

Wow, this is amazing! I don't play too many video games, but I do spend time playing online games. I do want a little clarification, what if we , make a type of games page but someone already has a page for everyone of those games? won't it be redundant? Thanks I love Mahalo Contests event though I never win! :D

it won't be redundant. it will make your page more relevant. be sure to link to all of those pages in your related mahalo pages section. google likes pages that are relevant. and as long as you have the keywords advertisers are paying for, their ads can show up on your page.

more people will probably click the ads than the other relevant pages, but if we all keep linking to each other with relevance, the search engines like us more and more.

@smartweb, Great point on the "related mahalo pages" section. Those will definitely be key to getting pages indexed and getting traffic to those pages as well.

There are also a lot of Video Game pages that get a huge amount of traffic, so also be sure to inlink any related Online Game pages you create, to those video game pages that already get a lot of traffic.

What a great subject for the week! I already see lots of new free online guides that I'm going to enjoy playing myself! Now let's hope I can keep concentrated on performing the tasks...

It looks like fun.. but I am already noticing signs that I may not be able to participate alot do to computer technical difficulties it appears I maybe able to fill out everything pretty easily accept the actual playing the game part.. in some cases... But Good luck to all the rest of you! :) .

Maybe you need to install flash and Java? Most of these free online games use either or both. (mostly flash).
