I think Jason C. will have lots of work to do on his next pillar of Mahalo and he will probably drop quite drastically once he gets into full swing on the next project. Methinks he will soon just be seeding questions. I predict that he will quit posting in a month or two. He only has 24 hours in a day just like you and I. But unlike me, he has a lot of plans and things that are demanding tons of his time. (All of this could be wrong. It is just a prediction exercise.)
If things continue, I would think Darcy will continue to be #1 as long as she wants to and she has the time. I don't know how long I will be around and thus can't predict how long someone else will be around. I tend to get interested in something and play around for awhile and then get bored and move on the next thing. There are probably some people like me in the top 30 who will soon drop down.
I would think that as more people find out about Mahalo Answers and if the site's paradigm is successful, we will have new experts joining the top levels. These are people who either don't know about this site or are waiting around to see if it sticks around before putting time and energy into it. Continuing with this prediction leads me to think that we will get more experts here. Once the site achieves critical mass, then there will experts in each major category. Once we get the top expert of cars and the top expert on computer networking and the top expert in cooking, then the top answerers will change in accordance with the popularity of these experts' categories. Lots of car questions relative to few computer networking questions would put the car expert higher in the rankings. And there will be a smaller (maybe 25%) contingent of general answerers. Those that like the opinion questions or that don't specialize.
So, this leads me to think that about 1/2 of the people will still be in the top 30. There will be more category experts in the top 30. Jason will be gone from the top 30 and will ask questions when he wants opinions about something that he's thinking about. In a way, he has an excited loyal base of people who are just waiting for his next question. I don't think that'll ever change. :-)

Within one month, we will have at least one brown belt, and we will have no more than five green belts, and possibly zero green belts, in the top 30.
That's my prediction.

The top ten will still be in the top 30, and Darcy will still be #1. Big Jason may lose his #2 spot (though he's been asking more questions, so it might not happen). Considering the closeness of the next eight shakers, he could go anywhere from #3 to #6. I'd put my money on no lower than #5. Within one month, we will have at least one brown belt, and we will have no more than five green belts, and possibly zero green belts, in the top 30.
