@ritzy,
If you are logged into mahalo chat you can see everyone there. then you can be running a private chat window with your friend and know at any time whether they are logged in.
But there is nothing withing Mahalo itself, as @easyeboy said.

Answered Question

Mahalo is adding a tip to all questions that don't offer a tip.
Is there any way of knowing if a person is currently logged into Mahalo?
I have a friend who signed up but has connection problems, would be nice if I could know if she is online here, or not, at any given moment.

There currently is no way of knowing unless you ask them, or if they post a question for you. There is no status signal saying that "user X is online" or a chat system where you can see your friend online at any given moment. You can find out if they are online if they post a question or answer a question, but they can log off right after they do that.

Thats what I guessed. That happened to me today, but I know Ive had problems with Mahalo all day, in fact it took an hour after you showed having responded here, for it to actually show on this page.
You've answered my question, thanks.
