Is there a way to create hyperlinks in Answers?

I don't mean internal links to other Mahalo pages.  I'm referring to, for example, having the word "GameSpot" that will link to http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/starwars2007/hints.html?tag=tabs;cheats when clicked.

In order to make sure there is not link baiting I think MA is better off NOT allowing hyperlinking in this way. Currently if a word is clickable that means it goes to a safe Mahalo page and any other link has to be fully visible so we know where it is truly going to go before we click on it.

I really believe this is a security reason for the users safety beyond anything else!

Hmmm... Never thought of it that way.

On another note (not to be argumentative), is that really such a huge problem though? I spend literally 12+ hours a day online, clicking left and right. It's never been a problem. Just wondering how prevalent baiting really is.

Anyways, I was wondering because, as far as formatting, readability and/or aesthetics go, a huge link can become pretty ugly/unwieldy. I guess it's just a personal thing, but I can't be the only one!

I think it really depends on the person and how important security is on their machine. I personally do not click on a link unless I can see where it is leading and the setup on MA is one that makes me feel safe in what I am seeing. Link baiting is the reason many major sites such as Myspace and Facebook require you to click a confirm button before you follow a link away from their page, this helps keep those companies out of legal trouble if someone ends up being the victim of phishing (which is becoming more and more prevalent across the net as social networks increase in popularity).

For the sake for me being curious, I'm going to use this post as a "sandbox" and goof off trying.

Nope, tried a few different things and nothing worked.

I can see the above point, as I get mad when people shorten their links so I can't tell what I'm clicking on.  Countless times people have sent me graphic jokes and stuff and I have opened it with my kids in the same room.
