I have noticed that when I post a question longer than some unknown threshold, it seems to trip out the system when I click "submit" (perhaps due to a timed-out session state)... however, I've also noticed that if I click submit and it goes to "Page cannot be found," I then hit F5 to refresh and it will show most of my answer, but it will be truncated, leaving much of the answer chopped off.

Again, I don't know if it just freaks out due to content length or due to a session timing out, but I have been able to get some pretty long answers posted without any issues... not THAT long, though.

You shall truly be a pioneer.

I just pasted something extremely long about 20 times over so it definitely will handle a 10 page word doc.

hmm...weird. I keep getting an error when I try to submit even half of my answer. Thanks for experimenting. :)

Hey Demanda, just play it by ear, if you believe the question deserves such a long answer by all means post it all... (I don't think i've seen such a long answer, so if anything it will be a good test)

But at the same time, consider the asker, will they appreciate ten pages worth for an answer, or would they prefer something shorter?

Regardless, you should post the link to the question/answer here so that we can check it out once it's posted.

haha...yeah, the length is necessary, as it is a transcript of an interview. I hope it is appreciated because it has taken way longer than I expected!
You can see it here:

I decided to just add it piece by piece via comment. The length of my answer there is about the maximum I could submit.

No... way.... you seriously did this? I gave up after I realized it would take me about 20 hours to do it... you're insane!!!!

hah...I'm still not completely done. I have about 10 minutes or so left to transcribe, but I'll finish it sometime today. It has taken me way longer than I expected (~4 hours), but I got too far into it to quit. But yes...I am insane.

Hi Demanda,

Good question! I think Mahalo should look into creating an attachment function. People can attach video, photo, or audio files, so why not MS Word files?

If this function was enabled, you could just write a brief intro to your 10-page doc and refer your readers to the attached document.

Hopefully someone's listening :)

I like real analysis, so have 10 pages of information seems like too much.

It actually ended up to be around 12-13 pages, but I wrote it all myself. It was not copied and pasted. It was a transcript of a video.
