Not sure why the double post was necessary:

Let me just say this, leaving aside your use of the term "evil," which I find unnecessarily pejorative and subjective, and really has no place in this discussion...
Mahalo is a search engine. As such, we are designing pages based on the topics that are commonly searched on the Internet. As you may or may not have noticed, a lot of popular Internet searches concern adult content. That is what our audience is looking for, this material is not illegal to link to or provide information about, and Mahalo steadfastly maintains an index that itself is free of pornographic images and content.
There are, essentially, only two options when creating a research tool such as Mahalo:
(1) Limit the topics our site covers to those we personally find appropriate and appealing
(2) Cover all popular or commonly-searched topics, provided our information is accurate and legal to disseminate
I think, clearly, the second option is more manageable and responsible, and treats our users as rational, intelligent, free-thinking adults.
You may disagree, which is your right. But let's approach this discussion with mutual respect, by stepping back from calling one another "evil" and agreeing that there are multiple, valid approaches to the ambitious project being undertaken by Mahalo.

If this offends anyone, then I'm sorry.
I see your viewpoints. I don't knock them down.
Just wish mine would be respected, too.

Do I care for adult content? NO Do I support adult content? NO Does adult content offend me? YES
I believe in intellectual freedom and freedom of the press. This also means I have the freedom not to have to see such things if I choose and if someone else does that is just their choice and I don't have to like it. But like I said, Mahalo has never PUSHED it in my face either. and the ads haven't popped it up either.
I think the barnraising thing was just a weird happening that kinda put "adult content" in everyone's face a little bit. But it wasn't the ACTUAL adult content so no foul. I pretty much ignored it. (except for the image of an Amish- barnraising-adult-content visual in my head) Scanned the tasks first for the word "Disclaimer" before reading the task. Decided none of it was worth my time (because how slow the program works for me and sealed the my nonparticipation with the 'adult content') and moved on.
Like it or not this is a real world happening. Internet and porn go together to make LOTS of money. Mahalo is a business which wants to make money. Some people are here because of potential money. It is all hand in hand. We all have the right to choose whether we participate or not. And in what capacity and in which areas/categories.
The world is full of good and evil. We decide for ourselves which we choose. We cannot choose for others. This is free will.
Mahalo is an “object” of sorts, it cannot be evil in and of itself.

• I don't like seeing titles of Usernames or links that have adult content suggestions on my Claimed Pages. Recently Updated, Tasks, and Most Viewed have Adult Content titles with Lewd names or Nudity.
Secondly, some members have lewd names with indecent graphics.I've reported these members, but some remain on the site. I saw two members advertising sex pages during a training at the bottom of the page
Mahalo should handle adult content titles with care and limit the exposure of these titles. Mahalo would not put these titles on its main page and should not have them on its claimed page

Why should viewers have to read the titles?
It not just about clicking the links. Its about being force to view the titles.
How can you know the internet? It has exponential number of connections, 2^n where n are the participants. At best, you can have general assumptions.

Rating systems are starting to monitor content on the web. Censorship and quality control are becoming a bigger issue. I see the trend towards more quality analysis in determining the safety of the site. Microsoft seems to be aware of this trend and AVG because they provide ad-ons that monitor the quality level of the site.

I know what you mean by "it is what it is" and so is society.
But I will not get used to it. I don't have to. Neither do people have to give up their views either. It's about respect. thank you

I'd rather not see the links or "Not safe at work" type categories. If it increases, I will not participate. Not that anyone else will care, but it is not my style. Life is too short to do things that you don't like. If this offends anyone, then I'm sorry.

Brave move. You'll probably get kick out for making a statement against the Adult content.

We have never removed anyone from our system for making comments or criticisms about Mahalo, and we do not intend to start any time soon. This is an open forum where people are free to voice their opinions on any topic they like, including the way we are running Mahalo.

Oh come on people. I have been on Mahalo for 18 months. I have not once run into or onto any "adult content" anywhere. I knew it was there because 1) this is the internet 2) the NSFW category tag. You have to look for it just like anything else here. Do I care for adult content? NO Do I support adult content? NO Does adult content offend me? YES

I'm talking about the Morality of having to see so many Adult Content titles. I'm voicing concern about the Direction of referencing so much of the type of media.
Morality is a subjective issue. Morality connects with a person views of right and wrong.
