Whatever balance you leave in your Mahalo account, whether it's because you did not meet the M$40 minimum or because you chose to leave some M$'s there will remain in your Mahalo account. Technically speaking, it does not "carry over into next month's payment" because there are no regularly scheduled payments at Mahalo. You have to request each payout, and you can request only one payout each month.

If you request a payout next month however, whatever M$'s are in your account will be available for that payout, so it is not a "use it or lose it" proposition. For more details check out http://www.mahalo.com/how-mahalo-dollars-and-payments-work .
