There's a short waiting period between the time you embed the widget and when you are awarded points for it. This is in place to prevent gaming the system by embedding the widget for a few minutes, getting the 50 points, and then immediately removing it.
I've checked our logs, and it appears that between the time you asked this question and now, the points for embedding the widget have been credited to your account.

I embeded the Mahalo answers widget in my blog. Now how do I confirm with Mahalo for 50 Mahalo points offered?
Just a new guy trying to get to the 100 points needed for a "yellow belt". The widget is embeded into http://ibusinesslogic.com/blog but no points reflected in my account. Is there a "ping" step I missed?

It takes time. Be patient, it will come. I've seen some say it takes hours, and I think it took a few days. You can email Mahalo support if you don't see it in more than a few days, but every time I've heard of this, support has responded, "Your points were applied." Search Mahalo for widget, and you will see several others with the same question, most of whom have replied to their post, "Wow, after I posted I saw the points applied. Thanks!"
