It took me some time before I figured this out. Eventually I learned to upload my pics at Picasa. Now, I go to my album, click on my pic, right click, select "copy image URL" and then paste to my answer or comment.
For a video, I go to YouTube, find my video, click on it to expand it, click on "more share options," and look for "Copy and paste this link into an email or instant message:" I right click the link, so that it's painted, then copy that, then paste it.

Alternatively, click "add photo" at the bottom of the answer/comment field to attach a picture to your answer/comment. You'll also need the URL of the picture.
For your picture to display correctly, it has to be in standard image formats like JPG, GIF or PNG. It is not necessary to be hosted on Photobucket, as long as the URL points to a valid image.

How do I attach pics to my comments and answers here in Mahalo??
I'm terribly embarrassed to ask cause you guys are all so gifted and I've been Mahaloing for so long!
When I try to copy and paste something, it never comes out right - do the pics have to be in a certain format like jpg's or gif's or what? do they need to be addresses like from Photobucket (that's where I have most of my pics stored)?

To embed a picture you just need to paste the URL of the picture in the text field. For example, I just copied the URL of Google's logo. So I just have to paste the URL in a new line and the picture will automatically be displayed, like this: http://www.google.com/intl/en_ALL/images/logo.gif

It didn't work because you need a direct link to the image. The link you pasted points to a page on Photobucket.
To get the direct link, go to the address you've pasted. On the bottom left corner, there's a "Share this image" box. Copy and paste the direct link and it'll work.
