M$1.00 Funded By Mahalo ? |

I think that it is an interesting idea. An alternative would be to make the tipping optional, but to allow a selection of second best answer (points and acknowledgement giving validation). You may get fewer funded questions if the payout was mandated as double for two best answers.

I work a lot harder on a M$20 question then I do on a M$1 question. I'd rather win nothing than have the value of my answers regularly knocked down by having to split the tip with other people.
From every answer that I don't win, I review what I could have done better and apply that to the next question.
Personally, I like it a lot better when I'm close to winning an answer and am tossed even a fraction of an additional tip (even M$1). This really makes me feel like my answer was close and appreciated.

Answered Question

Mahalo is adding a tip to all questions that don't offer a tip.
How about a way to select 2 or more "best answers" for a Mahalo question (splitting the tip)?
added idea: allow split if full tip given to each "best answer" (from account of person asking the question only)

I get what you're thinking... and to some degree it's been done (the Oscars M$100 contest). I think that it's a good idea but one that shouldn't really be encouraged too much. I am not sure how that would work. Sounds interesting though. There have been times when I like a couple answers I have received and what I do is choose the best answer then I will actually send a tip to the other people that I think answered the question well.
