None of my pages have been taken away, but I have been keeping them updated. I have a feeling that the inactive pages being taken away policy is either not yet in effect, or the time limit has been increased.

I'm wondering, some people have over 100 pages. How can they possibly keep them updated on a regular basis?

On a related topic, I did lose 1 page in the beginning of 2.0, but I was able to reclaim it the next day. I'm not sure why or what happened with it, but what I know now is that I am only able to claim 19 pages when my limit is suppose to be 20. I think it's a bug.

The people with over a 100 pages are all Mahalo staff.

I missed this, perhaps because I was away. Why would a page need to be updated after it is completed unless it is breaking news or the like? I have one how-to page, and the how in question just isn't going to change anytime soon. (http://www.mahalo.com/how-to-drink-beer)

From How Mahalo Works

--quote--
As page manager, you will be required to make at least one significant contribution to your page every 10 days. If you do not make any significant edits to your page in 10 days, you will receive a warning by e-mail. After that, you have 5 days to make an edit. After 15 days, the page will be taken away from you and recirculated into our system.

A significant contribution would include things like adding a new section to the guide note, updating the material that is already there to include recent changes or submitting new and informative links. The page manager is also responsible for reviewing other users' contributions to their pages. Incoming alterations that make the page less informative, accurate or useful should be removed within a few days.
--/quote--

It's to ensure users don't claim pages and then take-off. Twice a month, once every 15 days is all we ask of our managers. One of the motto's we've had since the beginning is that a page is never complete, it can always be improved. If it means adding a new guide note section or adding a featured video, image etc... A page is never done. If you can't make a contribution once every 15 days, then your page will be opened up for someone else to claim.

Hmm. 24 or more times a year. Probable payment in pennies. Making a page is fun; maintaining a page is work. Looks like way below minimum wage work to me. I guess I'll give this one a trial for a while anyway.

YES, (NOT REALLY LOST MORE LIKE TAKEN) I was making a skateboard page, then i get a message from some lady who say oh there is a page similar to this one called skateboards I am like oh I will go check this out, Only to find out she had just claimed this page when it was previously unclaimed. I thought this was very rude because I had been working hard on my Skateboard page.

My Utah page was taken away.

You have to update every Ten days. This term is a potential warning of risk.

Mahalo could be more helpful. Mahalo should track, for the manager, the number of days since the last update. Right, now there is no way to know when the last update for the page occurred.

If you don't update every ten days, you risk the possibility of Mahalo kicking you off the page!

To much evangelism was the argument. I added Book of Mormon, and Families center content.

I later claimed Book of Mormon and put the content there without a problem.

The Utah page was a tourist page. I think if you claim and existing page, you need to keep the theme within the framework of the Mahalo employees.
