Given that, I think there are going to continue to be a number of people who go environmentally-friendly/organic. However, given the economy, there are going to be people who will be lucky to have anything at all, and will wear whatever they can afford. Jobseekers are likely not going to go out on a limb fashionwise.
Opposite the still-working environmentalist fans, we'll also have the still-working tech fans. They'll be buying the next generation of smart phones; using technology to Get Things Done--automating as much as possible; making as much of their environment as automated as possible. Probably while being as environmentally-conscious as possible.

I think, as usual, we'll see a mix. There has never been a time, other than at the height of the Soviet Union, that everyone has worn or done the same things (remember SNL spoofs of Soviet fashion shows, where everything was grey work coveralls?). Given that, I think there are going to continue to be a number of people who go environmentally-friendly/organic. However, given the economy, there are going to be people who will be lucky to have anything at all, and will wear whatever they can afford. Good point tracebooks, I am sure that eco-fashion will become a recurring thing in 2009 and especially 2010! I haven't heard of anything saying that clothes must be green (not colour, environmentally), but I'd say most designers will.
