Does Mahalo cost money?
If I have to pay to post or respond to questions, I will cancel my account.
Thanks,

No, you don't have to pay money for joining, answering, and doing tasks in Mahalo. It is an absolutely free service.
But in case when you ask a question, and you want to tip the best answerer for your question ( optional ), and if you don't have enough Mahalo Dollars in your account for paying, then you can tell Mahalo to take money from your paypal account and you can increase the amount of M$ (mahalo dollars) you have in your account. :)
But Mahalo pays for your activities in Mahalo such as completing tasks in Mahalo Tasks and answering questions ( if your answer is selected as the best ). Mahalo will pay you in M$ and each Mahalo Dollar is equal to 0.75$ when paid via Paypal. You can request for payment when you reach a minimum of 40 M$.
Enjoy the stay in Mahalo :)

Mahalo is free! (for the most part)
You do have the option of exchanging for Mahalo Dollars that you can then use to tip other users for answering questions or commenting and clarifying on responses.
But for general users, it is free to ask and answer questions.

You don't have to spend any money to use Mahalo, and in fact, you can earn money here without spending any.
You do have the option to purchase Mahalo dollars, if you would like to tip other users for their answers to your questions.

I'm afraid that asking a question and reading the answer will cost you lots of money!
More seriously, how do you think Mhalo should improve its information and communication so that everybody finds easily the answer to your question?

I was taken here from another site. I wished to actually make a political comment on that particular site, but -- once I saw I had to register with Mahalo, I was OK with that step. The confusion/problem arises when one registers, and sees money issues, options and the word 'PayPal.'
Suggestion: Add Ghanan's one-sentence clarifier to the profile registration section, for the sake of clarity.
I am thinking some people may 'turn away' before registering, if they are not sure whether or not they have to pay to post or respond to a question.
Thanks,
Lori

Hi Mahalo powers,
This is a good suggestion... this disclaimer sentence should probably show on every page for non regitered users
