Nah, I just use multiple tabs on my web browser. If I really need to "hang on" to something, I'll copy/past into the browsers clipboard. I've mastered fast internet searching, so those things would only slow me down. I guess it's just not my style when it comes to net researching.

But I'm certain that being able to use sticky notes on line rather that on a device i use to connect will be of more use, just because it can remind you whenever and wherever you go on line, the only issue I might have with that kind of service will be related to confidentiality and required sign on each time I wanted to be reminded.

Do you use virtual sticky notes to assist with your research for Mahalo Answers?
For instance, this http://www.stickyscreen.org allows you to place one virtual sticky note reminder to yourself, then there are more advanced services such as WebNotes http://www.webnotes.net which allow you to write sticky notes online, or Fleck http://www.fleck.com and i-Lighter http://www.i-lighter.com which allow you to highlight, or SimplyBox http://simplybox.com which allows you to box items, to the more extreme services such as Diigo http://www.diigo.com and MiddleSpot http://middlespot.com which allow you to annotate anything. Which of these services do you use for your research, and if so why or why not? If there is another service you prefer, which is it, and why?

• You say it how it is, a true pro doesn't need a lot of bells and whistles, so it seems, and it would slow you down. Maybe one of these tools would speed you up if you figured out how to use it right! I am contemplating Middlespot, as it looks really cool. Some people want to go back!!

I used to use those all the time when I was on a Mac, but I just don't think they're really that effective. Plus, I have a severely bad memory so I started carrying around a little spiral notebook, like the one Tony Soprano used when his therapist asked him to write things down. And I keep a miniature pen in my pocket at all times. So if I need to take notes on something, I do it in a very low-tech way. Pen and paper.

Virtual sticky notes? Interesting but that's one example where the real deal works better. At least it does for me. It's a lot easier for me to peel off a real sticky note, jot something down and stick it on my monitor. Of course, the answer to your question is no.

Good point temoc. I'm thinking of sticky notes as somewhat static. What you refer to sounds more like reminders or appointments tied to calendar software. I do use those to remind myself of upcoming appointments.
