I think there should be some sort of designation (and there is on their profiles), as this certainly wouldn't be fair to have the people who work at Mahalo always as top members. It says on their profiles if they work or are affiliated with Mahalo, so people can see that, but you can't tell just by looking at the avatar. Maybe they should put a Mahalo badge on their avatar, that way people know these people are Mahalo employees, otherwise, there's nothing wrong with them making it to the top.

Do you think the Top Members lists at Mahalo Answers should not include people who work at MA?
I'm motivated to keep my top-10 spot and keep getting overtaken. When I look at the top 10 (points) Top Members list, I see a number of people who work at MA (I'm talking to YOU Calacanis).
Should there be an option (or a manadate) that people who work at MA be eliminated from these lists?

I don't know, I kind of like having them listed with the rest of us. It gives you an idea of where you stand relative to those that actually work with the company. Personally, I would rather see them stay, but it would be cool if there was something which distinguished them from the rest(Username in a different color, border around their avatar, etc). I don't see why they should be excluded. Unless, they started as purple belts with tons of money, then there is no real difference between them and the common user, other than the fact that they are system administrators and started on Mahalo Answers when the site began. They've all made their money just the same way that you have, so shouldn't they be classified in the exact same way?

I don't believe it's a problem, unless all the top members were working there, then there would be something odd about that. However, if they earned a purple, brown, or black belt, and they did it just like you did it just like you did, there's nothing wrong with that. I think there should be some sort of designation (and there is on their profiles), as this certainly wouldn't be fair to have the people who work at Mahalo always as top members. I don't understand how them working at one place or another makes any difference on how they should be ranked. The ranking in my mind is more for the users of the service. So they can get some idea as to where the answers to their questions are coming from. Is it just me or does this question happen every couple of weeks?

I like seeing them in the list. I personally don't care about the number of points I have. I see points as a level of activity. You could sit here all day, every day clicking on pages and climb the top 100 in a matter of weeks.
To me, Best Answers, and the Best Answer percentage define a real contribution. In my mind, anyone with over 30% Best Answers has a pretty good score. Combine that with a solid number of answers and you've got yourself a winner.
I'm trying hard to break the top 5 best answers but wow it's tough.
