The only way to comment on a comment is just to reply to the original comment. All replies to the comment will show below the comment.

So, in that case, the person who wrote the comment will be informed, but not anyone else who replied to the comment. You would need to try to contact them directly, or hope that they come back to the question to see who has commented on it.

For example, you "karj" made a comment to the answer by "morriss003." I commented on the answer also. My "carriep" comment shows up under yours. "morriss003" gets informed/notified that I made a comment, but you do not.

Yes, you are correct. Since you asked the question you will get notified of any comments and replies. I had not thought of that.

I am informed of any comments to me in my profile, but I no longer am emailed when someone answers one of my questions or comments on one of my answers. I wonder why this is?

I'm trying to follow your question here, and, frankly don't quite understand what you mean, but I can try to make sense of it:

You're asking if it is possible to reply to a comment? Yes. Just click on the comment button, your comment goes below the last one.

I've got no idea what you mean by intimate. That's not an english word. Intimidate? Imitate? Something else? Trying to intimidate someone on here is silly, it's just words on the internet, and you'll look like a fool. Imitate? Well, they do say that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery ;)

Initimate is when you're close to someone, it's an adjective. "I am intimate with my girlfriend", for example. Intimated isn't the word, and you won't see it in use, it will only confuse people. As you said, informed is the word you were looking for. Sorry I couldn't have been more help.

–verb (used with object), -mat⋅ed, -mat⋅ing.
1. to indicate or make known indirectly; hint; imply; suggest.
2. to make known; announce.

I believe the word that you were looking for is 'indicate'. Sometimes, to indicate who they are speaking to, people will do an @ and then the handle of the person whose comment they are commenting on. So if a person was going to comment on a comment that I had made and there were other comments after me, that person might begin their comment with @morriss003.

what i meant is informed. if there is a reply to a answer the person is informed for eg for me in this page http://www.mahalo.com/member/karj
for you http://www.mahalo.com/member/morriss003
if there is reply to a comment means whether the commented person will be informed that is what i asked.

Let's test this. Karj, if you get informed or notified that I wrote this comment, then the answer is yes. If you do not get informed or notified that I wrote this comment, then the answer is no.

I believe that only "morriss003" will be notified of this comment, but you will not be.
