Brown Belt Test: Allison H - Pass 3/3

Once a Mahaloian reaches 8000 points they become eligible for their Brown Belt on Mahalo. However, that belt is only presented after Mahalo staff consult the members recent history and activity to see if that Mahaloian is in fact ready to become a Brown Belt. Today we test: @ allison h.

Allison H is one of the former remote guides on Mahalo who took to Mahalo 2.0 without any problems. Since the launch, she has earned over 6K from page management alone. If we kept statistics on how much users earned from Mahalo Tasks, I wouldn't be surprised if that number would inflate a couple extra thousand. All this is wonderful, except I never see Allison in Mahalo Answers, I think the Mahalo community would benefit greatly from the odd question or answer from Allison, turns out she is a pro, she might be able to offer some great tips and tricks on how to be successful on Mahalo...*waving* Allison over here, look at me! ~ Ahem, regardless, Allison is an incredibly valuable Mahaloian and I pleased to honor her with her brown belt today, I look forward to seeing the future gems that she creates through the Mahalo page management system.

Allison has been a valued member on Mahalo for sometime now. Joining us quite a while ago as a remote guide Allison was a great team player, now that she has started working as a freelancer she is one to watch! She manages over 500 pages and has made over $6,000 in just months, she is definitely one to look up too. She hasn't been spending to much time on Answers lately but that is because she is working tasks, page managing and mentoring other users. Would love to see her come back to answers and get involved in the community a little more as she strives towards her black belt.

What to say about Allison...she's had about as much impact on Mahalo as it stands today as any user in the company's history. Allison used to write How To pages for us on staff, but has really excelled upon making the transition to working as a page manager, largely because she exemplifies the spirit we're looking for from the Mahalo community. She's positive, she's helpful, she's hard-working, she's dedicated and, maybe above all else, she's clever. Allison has figured out angles to take with Mahalo pages and approaches to the work that neither I nor anyone else on the company's staff have devised, and best of all, she shares these valuable insights with other users.

I'm very happy to have Allison as such a significant contributor to Mahalo, and am pleased to award her a brown belt today.

Hi everyone! Thanks for presenting me with the brown belt, and I look forward to working alongside everyone as I aim for my black belt ...... perhaps by participating more in answers? Wink, wink.

I would like to say in regards to answers -- I really think it is a great part of Mahalo, and one I have tried numerous times to get myself more involved in. However, as many of you probably know, I have a tendency to really 'ramble on' in true essay-style. As a result, when I do land on answers, I spend hours there only answering a few questions, and then I have a difficult time getting my update goals done for the day. Managing a large amount of pages takes up so much of my time, and I try not to get too distracted from my 'goals.' Maybe all you answer peeps can give me some tips on time management, as it is my biggest weakness.

I must say that I have really enjoyed moving over to Mahalo 2. I was initially uncertain about the transition, but it has turned out to be wonderful -- first and foremost on a creative level, but also because I have such a passion for marketing and trying to 'think outside the box' for ideas. Now I just have to figure out how to generate those 'Dora Links' sort of ideas. Hee hee. Another great thing about M2 has been getting to see others become excited about page management!

Anyway, I could ramble here like I often do, but instead I would just like to thank everyone again. Also, feel free to ping me in chat or send me a message if you ever have any questions or want to brainstorm. It might be easier to do that then hold out for my sudden participation in answers -- though I will try to at least ask more questions. That might be less distracting than trying to answer all the time.

Allison is amazing to work with-- very collaborative and fun as well! She's always ready to help anyone who asks, and almost single handedly led the coupon charge for Mahalo. The recognition conferred by this brown belt is long overdue!

Allison was the first person to help me out with creating a page here on Mahalo and was completely tolerant of my mistakes and incredibly helpful in moving me along.

Although we don't see her here on Mahalo Answers that much when we do she always has an incredibly helpful answer or an on point opinion that really delivers. I'm sure this test will be a pass all the way.

I am glad I was able to help you along in the beginning of your page management/building quest. I have been building pages on mahalo for a long time, and it is nice to be able to transfer that knowledge to people that really want to learn!

I can't think of anyone who is more deserving of a brown belt than Allison. In my opinion she easily qualifies as a black belt actually. You don't see her around answers too much, but she is one of the top page managers and that is where she focuses a lot of her time on Mahalo.

Allison has been super helpful to me over the past few months with questions I have had. She always goes above an beyond on answers. Allison is a valuable asset to our community and she has my full support on this brown belt test.

Hi Soundboy! I have enjoyed working with you and seeing you progress through the pages you have created. It is always encouraging to see users that want to learn and make their pages the best (including having me fix all those title typos the system used to generate so often). It is great to see users aim for that sort of grammatical perfection. Hee hee.

I am glad I have been able to help you over the last few months, and look forward to continuing to work with you and check out all your contributions in the future.

Your a great example of how to leverage writing skills to make money on Mahalo. I was impressed that you were able to capture thousands of dollar through "How To" pages. What your long-term objectives on this site? Is Mahalo your full time job?
Source(s):
Your a valuable member of Mahalo. You have made over $6,000 dollars and probably the single most valued member. I'm surprised that more people haven't follow your strategy. Your a breakthrough type of person. I'm amazed at how successful you have become. Everyone watches Rob Brown for leadership. I think they should be listening to you.
