I have been having a great time recently but I have noticed after an initial influx of added participation in the AotD contest the number of participants both nominators and voters has declined.
Many of the questions I have answered recently I have imported personally so I like that. I get to answer questions tailor made for me, my interests and my pages.
I hope Mahalo gets the issues with your account and signing in fixed so you can participate.
The Conundrum connection thing is working for me now though I did lose some things in the transition. I just received my first best answer from there and I both got the 16 points and the 3 Mahalo Dollars.
In the six months I have been active here on Mahalo I have seen dips in interesting participation before but they all have been followed by some new items of interest or a new facet of the site I find interesting. My curiosity will usually reform to its surroundings and develop new interests if it has to.. I really do not know how I become interested in the things I do.
You are doing just what I do when I find the participation here on Mahalo Answers less interesting than I usually do.. get into my pages and further that investigation into that road of discovery.
You watch, something new will happen it might be a fascinating new user or a new feature it really might be anything but things will jump to the interesting level for you soon enough.
I hope you can help turn things around and have a great time here soon .. I'm sure it is right around the corner. :)

I've noticed that it's status quo around here right now... and anything that isn't status quo tends to detract from MA's basic goals (re: these damn Conundrum questions).

I find that when things slow down, I either build more pages or update those I already manage. I also tend to go vote in undecided questions. So, in a way, maybe the slowdowns in MA benefit the site, as a whole, in terms of prompting more page building and updating and more voting.
Mahalo and MA are addictive. I guess when things slow down a bit, we feel more need of our "fix".
Of course, if you're really bored, come take a look at some of my pages and make suggestions (trust me - there will always be suggestions possible)!
Thanks for the question!

I see you are only managing 10 pages. I would recommend getting more involved with pages. Have you been checking out the tasks lately? That is a good way to earn money and gain pages at the same time.

But still I ask the question that I find curious.
So basically I am not feeling like I am in a slump. Good question though.

I think a lot of the questions are leading to 'unqualified', personal and emotional answers ( I'll answer them too but its not the same as the meaty research stuff ) and its not as nice as the objective things that are asked.
Requiring a certain number of answers/questions for reward in CL does make for a messy and disorganised rush to post rubbish questions and answers, some are great but most are for under10s aren't they?
I've found niches of people Qs and As for themselves - there is no point in answering them because I know I'm not one of the chosen few - its not hard to pick them when they use a special format on the answer - trying to hide an ID doesn't work then.
On the whole though I think there is enough to do here to get out of a slump if I get in one, and I can always disappear for the day somewhere else and forget the "oh you call that a best answer?????" thoughts :)

Answered Question

Mahalo is adding a tip to all questions that don't offer a tip.
Anyone else feel like they're in a slump on Mahalo lately?
I have: barely anything worth answering (especially for Answer of the Day contests), all priorities going to Conundrum (which i can't even sign up for yet), the whole "lets get rid of the old questions by voting them with no best answer even if they're good", and well, just kinda bored. Heck I've been catching up on Pages moreso the past couple weeks than anything else.

well Lon even said the facebook problem is global so once they crack that code, so to speak, it'll open it up for me, and all of mahalo's future venues like CL.

Sound like that is in the works then. That is good, just a matter of time until you can join ConundrumLand. Last time I got bored a bit I decided that I wanted to investigate the idea of the United States invading Canada. I did some searching around and found that I am not the first to have this idea, so I asked a couple of questions regarding this topic and had a great time participating in those questions, answers and comments.

I'm in a slump because, I believe, MA is in a slump. It seems to me that the head of the company has moved on to other foci. The rest of the company follows the leader. I've noticed that it's status quo around here right now... and anything that isn't status quo tends to detract from MA's basic goals (re: these damn Conundrum questions).

Maybe it's because I am relatively new, but I have really been enjoying Mahalo. I even like the Conundrum questions and answers and have not noticed a "slump" exactly. I have noticed that weekends tend to be much slower, as do certain times of day (and night). I find that when things slow down, I either build more pages or update those I already manage. I also tend to go vote in undecided questions. So, in a way, maybe the slowdowns in MA benefit the site, as a whole, in terms of prompting more page building and updating and more voting.

Not at all. I love Mahalo more than ever. In fact I wish I had more time to devote to it. My regular job takes up a lot of my time that I would rather spend here. I see you are only managing 10 pages. I would recommend getting more involved with pages. Have you been checking out the tasks lately? That is a good way to earn money and gain pages at the same time.

I like the questions. Maybe we need to kick in some really awesome questions. I like to put some thought into my routing questions. Even though I realize that no one checks out my page where the question generates. In fact I get referred to offsite pages about the same subject my page is on. lol it is kind of funny people do not realize I am sending the question form the Mahalo equivalent of their suggestion. But still I ask the question that I find curious.
So basically I am not feeling like I am in a slump. Good question though.

I'm still new enough not to be too disheartened by anything ... yet... there are a few things I find difficult here but I've been told most people do at first. I think a lot of the questions are leading to 'unqualified', personal and emotional answers ( I'll answer them too but its not the same as the meaty research stuff ) and its not as nice as the objective things that are asked.
