Anonymous question asking?

I don't have any questions I'm embarrassed to ask, however there are some things I imagine wouldn't be comfortable asking publicly online. There could be a checkbox when choosing the catoregty to saying "Ask anonymously" I think it would be a great feature, anyone else agree?

Not only do I agree with anonymous asking, but with anonymous answering as well. Of course it would require further moderation, but anonymous questions could be held in a queue until a blackbelt approves them for posting to the public. This wouldn't put an extra burden on the busy mahalo staff and would be a good use of demonstrated worthy members.

If you click on a user's name, there is a check box where you can click it to ask an anonymous question.

I'm talking about asking a question like I did here, not just to one person.

But thanks for letting me know about that.

And that still doesn't work because only YOU and the PERSON see it. So its more of asking a question privately.

yea, this is a great idea, also the answers can just be private not annonymous :), like only shown to the asking person as the source of the answer should be known to know whether to trust him or not.

You can set up a second account, and use it for all your "anonymous" questions, so that they won't be associated with your primary profile.

I'm guessing it's probably in Mahalo's Terms of Service somewhere that you're not allowed to have multiple accounts. Practically every such thing like this has such a rule.

I think it's a good idea, since part of Mahalo's allure is that anwerers can build up reputations. But moderation would have to be in place to make sure 12-year-olds didn't fill up Mahalo with inane questions.
