Would you "dump" someone in ims or text messages?

Whethe it's a serious relationship or just a fling, how low do you have to be to dump someone using this method. Is the internet offering us too many ways to shirk our responsibilities to each other as humans?

First off great question... I think people today are using this method as a cop out, but in fact they are just hurting the other party even more probably by not telling them to there face. I definitely dont believe any period of time it is Ok to do this... People need to start respecting each other, I know this is a different time but u dont disrespect someone like that.

I would never...if you can't do it face to face then that's disrespectful to the person. you could atleast allow them some closure and break up to their face. I feel that doing it over the phone is lame half of the time. I feel the internet should be used as a tool to research and contact those far away or to discuss homework and day to day things but not an easy way out of a relationship. Imagine if parents disowned their children over IM or Txt...

i never dump anybody on internet so far and i think this kind of activities should not be done,it hurts someone feelings.it is very cruel thing to do,once a girl dumped my best friend on net and he was so hurt that he started drinking and not talking with us.we all try him to forget her but he can not.one day i felt ill and his family took him to medical and doctor says that because of excessive drink he was felt ill and 5 days after we had board exams,he got only 60% of marks, inspite of good in studies.so i really think that person who dumps other should be punished.

I used to be a coward and i am ashamed to say that i've done that about 3 times. Not very proud of it but we all make mistakes. Although, i mainly dont like all the drama associated with the whole breaking up thing. I wanna break up, end of story. But, i'm happy to say that i dont have to anymore now that i'm married. Can you break up over the phone when youre married? lol
